Hey guys,
I got a landcruiser 80 series with a 308 with vn 5lt injected top end having a few problems starting. the car ran fine then all of a sudden no start, it cranks over, has fuel, spark(but faint) I've been told try and change the coil it's a common thing but not sure if anyone could help would be great, it's just staring to give me the sh*t
Cheers
Ignition module failure is the most common but coils also die eventually, shouldn't be anything drastic
coil, samething happened to me!!

I just had this problem and It was the hall sensor in the dizzy. Bought complete dizzy, coil and leads. Bought off ebay for $145 new. I tried replacing ignition module first but made no difference.
Mate go buy yourself a crane LX-91 coil, its a good upgrade anyway and will prob fix your problem for under $150. Its the best coil if you are not using a mutlple spark unit.

I've put a new dissy, coil and leads. Starts up great now. But only when it is hot it just turns over but then starts I'm thinking maybe the starter is getting hot? Any more ideas?
Yes the starter can go slow and struggle to crank when it's hot![]()
i would say its the coil. mine did the same thing when it started developing cracks in the side of the coil, causing it to earth out on the firewall
edit - i see youve worked it out

ignition module
Thats the next thing i'm thinking I have to change how much roughly are they and where can I get them from. I really appreciate every on the forum helping me out it's been really help full.![]()
First off i suggested igniter because you have spark (and fuel) chances are its the device that actually controls when the spark occurs, plus youve basically replaced everyhting else...
a new igniter can be bought new/refurbished anywhere from 150 to 450 dollars. Holden charges 450 for a brand new one but you can get them cheaper elsewhere. always go either new or refurbished and never second hand
