Bought a set of ARP head bolts for the 253 in our race car. Tried putting them in but the small outside ones don't seem to fit properly. They go in ok, but it's like they are to long coz they bottom out, and it has started cross threading the bottom, yet there's still about another 1-2mm before the head of the bolt is touching the head itself. There's no shit in the threads coz the block was only acid dipped not long ago.
We tried returning them as they obviously don't fit, but the guy said he'd ring ARP and see wats going on, but he doesn't think they'd take them back coz of the bottom of the threads on the smaller bolts starting to crossthread, and coz the box is oily (wtf do they expect, not gonna sit and polish every bolt b4 it goes back in the box...).
Technically we should be entitled to a refund hey? They obviously didn't fit so we were either given a dodgy kit, the wrong kit, or maybe ARP is just shoit.
