love it mate
glad you decided to stay with the Walkie wheels too, too many people sticking 18's, 20's etc on first gens which make them look gay
that looks tough, well done
Was at the ALL HOLDEN DAY in Geelong yesterday. It attracted a resonable amount of interest. The next project is the interrior.
I have to agree with you Darren the Walkies are the best wheel for old commos. I have been looking at getting the rear wheels widened by 40mm. The bling bling 20" make them look like Tonka Toys.
i agree i like the walky wheels but imo you need to run the shorter vl diff in the rear just to bring them in a bit then if you do widen them a little it will give them just a little bit of extra dish.
what plans have you got for trim?

I'd be interested in hearing how you go with the widening of the wheels
didn't know they can widen one piece alloys ? But if they can, I'd sure be interested in seeing how they turn out
I'd like to stick a set of 245's under the back of mine, but 245's looks wrong on a 7inch wheel
keep us updated!
I will be getting mine widened to the inside. I can go 40mm with no obstructions. I need to supply 4 rims and they cut and weld them to match. $400 per rim all balanced and machined. I was thinking maybe 265s on the rear.
Trim is SAAS racing seats and rear seats and doors trimmed to match in all black with black carpet. All very basic. No console. Maybe finish the dash in satin black. Stay with the red/black theme.
Had a busy day. Fitted the new seats. Changed the door locks to sliders instead of the up down type ones and fitted the new door trims. Tomorrow i will fit the new speakers in the doors. It is coming along.

last time i looked at this thread you hadn't even put the motor in... it looks absolutely amazing! well done mate, so glad so see an early girl that is looking really decent and finished.
keep up the good work!
I did not like the black sass interrior. I have gone to a buckskin sl/e velour interrior. The first photo was taken prior to replacement of the roof lining.
very nice! those seats look in good nick.

After 32 years the last 5 being in a dusty shed they have cleaned up very well. I used a high pressure gernie. It just ripped the dirt off. Took a week to dry but the result was worth it. I have been looking for a set of these seats for nearly two years. I found two sets on the same weekend so bought them both. Picked the best and sold off what I did not need. I even managed to pick up some original buckskin crushed velvet velour off cut and trimed the pillars with it. I have noticed that the is a lot of differences in the sl/e interriors such as rear head rests, door trims in vynil or velour, power windows, power mirrors etc.
I have decided to sell the VB to fund another project. If interested PM me. It is currently adverised on Ebay if interested.
mate, couldnt agree more on the interior! very very nice.
