Shannons classic VH SL/X

hey guys!
I picked up my 1982 VH SLX with 100 000K's on it a few months ago from my dads old mate for $100!!!!
I took it over to another one of my dads mate and got all the rust taken out and got it resprayed white for about $2 000. It was then road worthy so i got all tht done and got it registered.
just last month i put 2 6x9's in the rear and got a new head unit so i didnt have to put up with 2GB anymore = ]
unfortunately shes copped a bit of damage from my inconsiderant mates that think its a heap of shit like a dent in the passenger door from them hittting it with their hip to shut it and a small scratch on the boot lid from golf clubs falling down it.

im not sure mate, ive thought about it. all i would need is the longer bumber bar wouldnt i? you wouldnt happen to know how much itd cost? but then i sorta thought it would be smarter just to buy an sle to have the real deal insted of throwin my money away.

Short term im looking at puttin extractors on it and possibly exhaust, performance wise. Id love to be able to grab a set of VL or VK rims to put on it, tint the windows.

dont u worry im ganna make him pay for it. im just really busy atm with my HSC but after i finish ill hit him up for the money.

On a serious note, you got that car for an absoloute bargain, no shit, and you got the respray cheap as chips too. Good job mate.

thanks mate theres just a few little problems... like the security pin code thingo doesnt work anymore, the drivers side door lock and pin is stuffed. fnding the time to fix it is the biggest problem

You had to replace a few things like a headlight and door lock and ignition because it had been broken into?

i think i might add to the look of the car and sell it. i figure its not worth putting money into it seeing as its slx not sle. but i might do some cheap mods like extractors n exhaust

The SL/X is better anyway. I have a SL/E and I prefer the SL/X interior. Plus everyone and his dog has a sle when in in the actual real world there were many many more slx's but there's isn't anymore

In the short term? maybe put a V6 in it so it's a sensible dairly driver. Long term something like this would be nice

but if i had it i most likely would turn it into a project they are a great car to start a build with parts are everywhere and cheap as chips to get

that VH is a beast!!! mines not manual either though = [
and i do use it as my daily haha

i wish my mates knew about cars so i could have a good understanding of all the things i could do with it and i could learn HOW to do it. Chuck ideas at me that wuld make it beasty? all i know is the carby is o so sh*t and extracters with exhaust is probably the cheapest way to boost power?

Mate You won't lose with these old girls. If yours has a good body and no rust hang on to it. Up date the mechanicals by dropping in an RB30 or V6 manual or auto into one. Put some superlow king springs, VN V8 discs all round, heavy sway bars nothalane bushes under it. Excellent daily driver and a lot of fun.
