Default autObarn Traralgon Display car build thread

told boss about the bmw, so he's kindly offered me the lend of his sons old car(they bought him a vs lexcen wagon for xmas to replace this), he sorted out insuarance for the next month, and i get to drive to work everyday instead of bumming lifts

    198?(cbf looking) vk wagon
    202 carby
    auto
    gas equipped
    boat suspension
    barb wire steering wheel cover
double pump shotgun action drivers door handle
no stereo(might have to round up something from work to stick in there for now, might go insane without some sort of music)

all i have to do is not crash it, fill it with gas and keep an eye on the vitals.

snapped a couple pics when i got home

    its a joke, lol.

the handles and door hinges are worn enough that you either need to kinda lift the door by the handle when you open it, or open the handle twice before itll actually unlatch from the car. common problem i told

well, i no longer have the vk, since the bmws on the road again, but im going to turn this into a build log for the vk. its now becoming the new display car for work. the boss wants to make it ratrod sorta spec, like the one done on street commodores, im going to try and keep it a bit different to that though

we're getting a bunch of sponsors on board, and are going to go mostly all out without going over the top

so i started stripping the interior out of it today, to get it ready for a full audio install(becoming a 2 seater, so no back seat or opening back doors), and started modifying the front doors for shaved doors. also stripping any bolt ons off the car so it can get painted next week hopefully.

anyone in vic got a donut tank for sale? need to piss off the gas tank. we have ideas to incorporate it, but i would rather it gone.

drivers side door handle thingo done(needs minor adjustments, but want it done so handles can get welded up before paint). will be putting remote actuators in to open the doors aswell.

shaving the wiper and washer, and tailgate handle, will add popper and stronger struts to open it
