Sounds nice mate, can't wait to see some pics. Not sure bout VIC, but in SA it's not hard to transfer ur car to v8 rego. Just done it to my wagon. Altho I know someone else who went through the same process as me but he has to have his car inspected, where as they passed mine without one.

    Mate

Sounds like a very nice car not that I am biased in anyway.

I think you will find that the standard 253 and the 202 diffs were the same. The 253 had 2.78 ratio.

I went through this process with my son. We changed his 253 VH to a six. RB30 six. I think technically he is still not allowed to drive the car because it has been modified.

    Get those pics up.

He says the car is a 4 speed, so it should have a 3.08 diff. 2.78 was for automatics.

yeah thought i'd just give it a cut and polish to see what the paint was like, wasn't too bad but there was a couple of dings that needed fixing, so just got it all done.

had to put one of those panels under the front bumper on, the original one was a bit too bent.

for the registration side of things, there was no issues with changing the engine, and its all done by the books with all the auto choke and emissions crap hooked up.

the 253 not the least worn engine around, just did a quick hone + rings + bearings + heads, so its no rocket.

i gotta wait another 2 years 10 months and 35 minutes.... so annoying.

the interior was pretty good, except for the chrome trim bits on the drivers door are a little worn. i wanna get new door trims, i think rare spares do them but im not 100%.

needs tyres with white lettering too..
