new car,an 85 vk berlina with 42000 k's

hey all i'm new here so i hope i do this right.i recently picked up this vk berlina with 42,000 genuine k's.it.s a 3.3 E.S.T auto.it had everything that it came from the factory with(14" steelies and berlina hubcaps,micro command radio cassette,the single parcel shelf speaker,side strips everything).it had damage to both quarters,boot and roof when i got it.i have repaired the quarters and replaced the boot with a calais bootlid so it has the calais rear end.i just have to fix the dents in the roof then spray the panels.the interior is awesome,only bad point is a 5cent pce size hole in the outside bolster of the drivers seat and vinyl shrinkage on the console,i took the wheel off to put away and put a sports wheel on it and put front seat covers on to protect the seats.the engine bay is untouched and in great condition.there is not one drop of oil underneath and runs like a dream.it was originally bought new from maryborough and still has the dealer sticker on the rear window.it was owned by an old lady in bendigo and only got used to go to the corner store.it sat for 8 years under her carport without being used at all.i got it registered a few weeks back(it was last registered in 2008) so it had to go over the pits for a blue slip and passed easily.just before the blue slip i was removing the rear muffler to repair it but when i started to take it of it fell apart so i have put a straight through pipe from the diff back which gives it a nice note.i also put some 16" clubby style wheels on it.i'm happy with it it's a nice cruiser.everything works on it,lights,buttons,switches,everything!!!

I have seen your VH on cardomain i have my rides on there aswell ... The Vh is a nice looking car looks good with the flares how far till its finished????

kool,thanks mate.looking at having it finished in the next 6 months.i have to get my brother in melbourne to help with some of it as i have been diagnosed with heart failure so i have to be careful not to over do it.so i'll be doing the rest of the body work and interior here,then we'll take it down to melbourne and do paint and a few other things then back home for assembly.can't wait to get it finished should get a few looks i rekon

hi mate,yeah it's a neat ride i'm glad i ended up with it.i've just thrown some paint over the repairs to neaten it up.i just gotta repair the roof then respray it after christmas.i just wanna get my S/LE finished and on the road!! how bout you?

G'day, after Christmas done now, I can get back to my cars now. Vh just needs the engine bay painted, new front window screen, and couple other small things, we should have that back on to the road soon. As for the Vk, paint, new frt suspension, diff change, and a bit more bits and pieces. We are still choosing on what motor to put into it. I want to put carby 308, my missus wants a EFI 5.0ltr. We are both involved with the vk. Thats pretty much it mate.........Cheers Jason

thats the way mate.my missus helped me all the way with her magna we built from ground up.now she doesn't get the shits with me spending all my time on cars as she now know how much work is involved!! it would be hard to choose between carby and injected,lot more work to fit efi but then you get reliability,on the other hand lots of things can go wrong.old school carby motors are tough especially if you have a little something poking through the bonnet!! as for my vk i put a sticker on the back window for 3 grand ono just 2 days ago and i was at the supermarket yesterday and it looks like i might have it sold!! saves me having to finish it off and i'll make nearly 3grand profit!!! they bringing their daughter around when she gets back new years day and they want their car back so i rekon they'll buy it for sure.cheers mate and keep us updated on your rides!!!

Cheers mate will do. Now we have both agree to paint the vk in formula blue, and buying a 90ltr drop tank off my cousin for the vk. Jason

thats the go.the drop tank will look sick!i was painting my SL/E two tone gold over pearl white but changed my mind to paint it like a blue meanie coz of the flares and bodykit.it's an awesome colour!!
