This is my VK Berlina, was my first car and my daily but has been replaced by a Ford XR6 (can I say that on here lol). But I wanna give the k another chance and turn it into a 5 litre cruiser. It is currently a carbie 202 but is going to be taken out and replaced with a 304 EFI. Here is just a quick pic of her. She's in pretty good nic for a 26yr old car. The car next to mine is my brothers that he was going to do up but lost interest which means I'm going to try and poach all the stuff he bought for it such as an SLE maroon interior and VT brake upgrade. Anyway here's a start to my build thread, it's going to be a long slow process but it will be done!

VERY nice looking VK matethe wheels actually look really nice and i am not normally a fan of bigger wheels.

Choco94- It has very little rust, just in the bottom of the doors and boot floor, but that's it. Nothing that's gonna be to hard to repair.
Ari- Yeah he is wanting to get rid of it, it's only a roller not motor or trans. I'll have a chat to him. Yeah I like the wheels, bit like the internationals but just cheaper lol. I'll get a few more pics up hopefully tonight of the rust.

thats a pretty clean looking vk you got there. apart from the 5L heart transplant, you got any other major plans for it? the vt brake upgrade sounds like a good idea. if that shell is in good condition ari666 would be very keen on it, he's after a decent vh shell to put his running gear in from his vk

Razza- Um not at the moment just wanting to get the conversion done first. So I'm thinking a 5 speed manual, with the VT twin piston brake upgrade and a 10 bolt Salisbury or vl turbo diff whichever I can find first and the SLE Interior. Then maybe supercharge it or stroke it
I'll take some pics of the shell for ari and put them up.
I bought some mig gas too and tomorrow I'll get some steel and magnets and maybe start welding this weekend.

Aww nice VK, if thats the worst rust in the boot, then you have got a pearla!! Thats nothing, door looks shagged but probably fixable. Might be just as easy to swap a good door but?

Yeah or a 355 stroker. I just want something that I can register so yeah still undecided. Just for the ease of things I thought get a 308 for rebuild and register it with the 308 in it then pull it out and stroke it to 355? With some other goodies. Or if i can find an LS1 for a good price get that. Spoke to a bloke the other day he said they can go pretty cheap but I'll need an adaptor plate to move the starter to the other side and a few other things.
Been practicing my welds yesterday. Getting their slowly. Decided to leave the motor side of things for now until I find one at a good price. So I'll look at getting a diff and found out my brother is using the brakes so I'll look for some VT ones again.
I take back the above post lol, Quick question what engine would better suit the conversion in my VK. A 304 from a VS stato or from a VN SS? Which one will have better performance even though they are the same pretty much? And which easier to put in? I asked this in my other thread but I need an answer soon.

304 is home and waiting for a rebuild. Got an engine crane for a while so the 202 will be coming out.
Update- Started pulling apart the 202 disconnecting everything. Also got myself a T700![]()
Haven't been on here in a while. Been a bit busy with work and my other car. Anyway going to try and get the 202 out this weekend. Also going to start at rounding up some parts. I have done a bit of research and here is a list I come up with:
- VL Turbo Diff
- VN-VS brake upgrade and booster
- V8 Tail Shaft, front half from VN-S rear half VK
- VS Series 2 Fuel tank IRS
- VN V8 K Frame
- VN-S Steering rack
- VL intermediate Steering shaft
- Exhaust setup to suit
- VK V8 3 Core radiator
- Air Box Setup from 5L
- New springs
Is there anything I may have missed? My mate wrecks V6 VS-Rs to get the motor for his race car so can I get all the VN-S parts from one of them or do some parts have to be specifically from say a VN, Eg: a VS steering rack won't work with a VN V8 K frame.
