just had the engine bay cleaned up ... battery tray out and all holes welded up...then sprayed with several layers of black pearl...the pearl isnt as noticable in the bay as what it is on the exterior. not to concerned really. I just dropped in the motor to see how it will sit..Will pull it out again to do more work underneath it ie: electrical, pwr steer, speedo and all the usual bits and pieces.

I reckon you'll love the exhaust note when you start her up. Nothing like the exhaust note of a healthy Aussie 304![]()

thanks...as u can see it had a 308 stickin outa the bonnet prior to the 5.0L so i have had to get a SS/grp A bonnet scoop to hide the big hole. i didnt really wana do it because i like the look of the bodys with out any bolt on body work...im not a big fan of body kits on any car except for the VK GRP A...only exception. however! i couldnt find a good clean bonnet in bris so i had to go the scoop. It looks pretty good on darrens red SS, thats pretty much what sold it for me!
very niceyou need to give the painter/body repairer a big pat on the back
it looks great untill u get within a foot of it! it was painted like 5yrs ago. couple of humidity bubbles here and there only on the roof tho! it could do with another respray as im pretty picky when it comes to paint jobs but that wont be happening for a long time as its not really a major issue...still looks good!
just all the wiring done and fired up today!. until there was a knocking sound from the flexplate which was outa balance so now the gearbox is back out and now ready to change out the flex plate with a new....goddamit!
looks great mate your doing a great job
the good thing about getting older....more toysthe bad news more headaches
had a few little extras added along the way! killswitch wired into the ecu, manual overide switch for the thermos, got the tailshaft rebuilt, custom kickdown cable, they supply/fitted a supposedly recod pwrstr pump but when it came time to drive it off the hoist the pump was goin ballistic, so now it definately has been recod and all parts and labour cost have been canned due to the inconvenience. only thing left to do ist to hook up a new exhaust....that of which im still unsure about
