Default 83 VH 202, Yellow. Hopefully Future project.

    Model:
    1983 VH SL Commodore

    Body Interior:
    All standard.

    Stereo/Electrics:
Pioneer head unit with aux in and 2 180w pioneer 2 ways, 300w fusion amp and some random sub.
(Mate sold me wiring, amp, sub for $70, thought it was alright.. Saving for new gear)

    Engine & Mechanical:
    Bog stock 202 blue
    3 speed trimatic, slightly warn...

    Suspension & Brakes:
All standard, replaced front rotors, pads with supercheap parts, Bendix break pads i believe.
Rear break pads also replaced, so pretty much new breaks..

    Exterior:
Canary yellow paint, slight surface rust around boot, corner of guards, and doors, a few dings..
Completely stock, exept the chrome tow ball..
Clean car, so im thinking maybe a project in a year or two.

Stuff Left To Buy & Future Plans:
Hoping to buy some cop rims or something simmular, wouldnt mind making it a sleeper...
Thinking RB30 conversion in future, but I want a V8 aswell...
    New sub and amp, hopefully..
wouldnt mind a slim spoiler, like a descrete one..
Future plans are to clean it up, and if funds allow, apprentice wage, turn into a really good sleeper, thinking either a 350 chev, or RB30.. Wouldnt mind the easiest engine to convert as I intend to do the whole lot. Plus I wouldnt mind a really quiet system, a worked V8 isnt that quiet...
Maybe lower it a inch or two.
So yeah, thats my plans for it.83 VH 202, Yellow. Hopefully Future project.-2011-06-17-11.25.51.jpg
    Ill Add more photos later.

castlemain rod shop sell complete 350 chev into VB-VK kits, so doesnt get much easier than that.
dual 2.5 inch system with a straight though muffler and resonator on each bank = mega quiet till you open the throttle.
    subbies and amps are silly

    hope to see more soon

Ari, Cheers sounds like a awesome system! Ill do a bit of research into that, thanks.
might keep it with a single pipe, but who knows what will actually end up happening.
Yeah they are silly, Played around with the settings a bit this morning, Im happy with the quality of the sound, so ill leave it.
For some reason the uploader doesnt like uploading my photos, Ill take some better pics soon anyways.

I got bored sometime last week, and after a bit of convincing from a mate i decided to give it the berries..
this is the result of my effort. I am going to say now, I am definantly quite a ########.
This was done up my drive as i could not bare to do anything on the street as i really need my license.
    83 VH 202, Yellow. Hopefully Future project.-img_0820.jpg
Anyways, last saturday I re made my parcle shelf with a bit of felt or something i found around the house, im quite happy with it.
I also added a blue tosser interior light and cleaned up my sle wheels and put them on, i removed the rear guards after one of them became missing.
Il put some photos up again soon.
Being my daily drive its hard to find the time to work on it, but slowly, im getting there.

    ahaha ari..
I got mine from repco for like 20 bucks, i think any other colour than white or original yellow looks silly in these old girls.
I am now saving up for a replacement so i can change it back. Although i think it is quite funny being a tosser.... sometimess....
Jonnoo, where did you get your headlight replacement globes from? any auto store?
Also, does anyone know how to fix the ciggarette lighter socket, when the ciggarette lighter becomes loose and when an attatchment is fitted can short circut and destroy the fitting.. Happened to my i pod charger.. -________-
The lighter bit works, its just not securely in the socket/fitting and its fairly annoying.
    Thanks.

there is a bolt on the back of the ciggie lighter. prolly 10mm. if you tighten it up it may fix your problem.

BUT i may be thinking of the impala. so might be talking out of my arse.

Cheers Jonnoo. Im planing to get the front apron changed over this weekend, but saying that, i doubt ill end up doing it.
Ahkayy, thanks anyways ari, i would assume id have to take the dash panel out, since i dont have any books, care to give me a breif description of what to do to get the panel/face out? A few screws, and some small pannel pullers or small flat screwdrives should be used to unscrew then lever it out right?
    Cheeers again.

i dont think i can help you on taking it out. im pretty sure VH's and VK's are different but:

Vk is a case of taking the center console out. so pull the handbrake as hard as you can, pop off the trans selector cover, lift the carpet from the console and undo the screws in there. lift and twist the console off. then there are two screws in the base of the stereo surround and one tucked under the ash tray

thats as far as memory takes me. from here you are on your own

cheers, done the console before, but the stereo surround and ashtray are new to me, probably would be easy if i took the time one weekend and actually looked at it carefully and assesed the situation, but that requires time.
Ive got a decent list to get done on saturday now.. pretty much a full 5am to like 7pm day planned.. ehhh...
Thanks again ari, i appreciate the help buddy!

Been doing some research in free time and found a few good condition 253 motors for less than 500 bucks!
Im thinking of getting one and swapping it round, while its out i was also thinking of manualing it aswell..
Still not sure what to do with the trans though, auto or manual.. still deciding..
But its still here, and still getting stuff done to it, just extremely slowly..

put it up forsale along with my wrecked commodore and had a look at a fair bad condition ke70 rolla.. apparently according to the guys i was with, it would be better to take the money i was going to use for purchasing that and then manual my commodore, and also found out that my wrecked commodores motor is not standard and featured head and cam work..
Im now looking around for manual conversion stuff. Let me know if there is any place in adelaide you know that could help me out with converting my commie.
    Thanks guys.
Ohh and the front apron is coming along very slowly, nearly ready to put on, then the headlight upgrades will go on then aswell.
