    Default TUFFVK project

    Hello new here from NZ.

Heres my VK Royale I picked up after it had an engine bay fire and required most of a front end rebuild.
It was built as a blue meanie rep, the colour isnt quite right so im keen to keep it as a streeter with a combination of group A and 3 kits.
It came with a healthy 300hp+ 308 and trimatic.
I resprayed the front end and tidyied up engine bay and interior, sold the trimatic and fitted a celica w50 gearbox.
After 2 gearboxes, 2 diffs and 2 headgaskets I fitted a w58 supra box and single spinner VL V8 diff. I had some more fun then killed 3 more gearboxes.
Ive decided to go for a T56 6-speed and while im at it why not build a nice efi 304 for it. I have sold the 308 and supra box conversion and also brought an lsd from a vr. I have purchased a stripped good condition 304 from a vr to start with.

    So plans now are:
    Rebuild kit
    Flat top pistons (10.1 comp)
Cam (Silimar to crane 286 grind)
    Link plus ecu
    LS1 injectors
    Manifold (havent decided yet)
    80-90mm T/B
    T56 chev pattern
    Decent clutch
    Hydro clutch conversion (VL Pedalbox)
VR 28 spline LSD 3.45 gears (Higher gears later on)
18x8 ROH R/T rims 235/40R18 Dunlop Direzzas (Goodyear Eagles next)

It has King springs all round shortened shocks and bigger front brakes. Handles and stops as good if not better than dads VX R8.

Aim is a streetable daily driveable powerful (400hp?) strong, fun car with plenty of gears for drag racing and circuit/ track days. Lots of sideways fun.

Heres shots of the original build and result.

Im expecting reccomendations for stroker kits or f/i but ive got quite a few parts already im happy to have a revvy n/a 5L, Id love the hear what people have got out of N/A standard stroke 304's.

Cheers for looking, whats your thoughts.

Thanks took me about 6 months because thats how long I lost my licence, since then its been an ongoing project to keep running.

My daily is a VP SS manual. Unfortunatly I will have to sell for funds but its for a good cause.
I brought it with intention of stripping as donor car for vk but decided its too nice to strip and the T5 wont last.
