i know, but it's going to loose the hornet scoop soon, 'cause the ram flo is no longer attatched and it's pure cop bait.
Haven't had the chance to go cruzin yet, work weekends but very keen

253's are over rated imho

you'd so be much better with a 304 355 stroker or something bigger
the kit looks nice though

and just so you know i was beating 253's 10 years ago in a 2.4litre skyline with minor work done to it,yes they are nice and loud but thats about it unless they are blown they aint my cup of tea..

No offence but 253 = boat anchor....

the EFI 202 put out as much horsepower thats why they killed the 253 after the VH.

But you've got potential there for greater things...and nice color...

old v8 commies are worth hanging onto

I sure wish I kept my VK308 as a toy to play with.

i know 253's aren't the quickest v8 on earth, but my vl (n/a 3.0l with a few mods) can't keep up with it so i figure it's quick enough to get me into trouble. but when the funds become available i may consider a displacement upgrade

brocky 05 dont get me wrong it looks the goods but all show and no go aint always a good thing,and mate i had a vl 5 speed well looked after and whooped a majority of the 253's i raced 7-8 yrs ago had all rears spinning in 3rd gear top speed 200pinging back on the needle as it was hitting the pin inside the dash.
if you had a good nick one you'd know vl's have potential just look at the turbo ones

Yeah no dramas dv-8, I was just sticking up for Shiatan a bit. I thought you were hanging a bit on him, some people can't always afford to have all the goodies.....I am one....lol. But yeah mate I see your point,I had an immaculate VL non Turbo a few years ago and it hooked fairly well.

My Brothers Torana hatch with a worked 253 with a supra 5 speed would smoke 1st second and 3rd gears under acceleration with a 3.55 LSD and 245's, it was fast make no mistake : ), we ripped the diff off the traliing arms one day

well that was a bit of a shock. i went down to super pus to grab some new leads and a new set of points. only problem is i took the cap off and there's two of the bastards in there. any ideas on why this is?

well the car's not going anywhere at the moment, after driving 30 kays home from work i heard a "rattle rattle clang" and all of a sudden no forward momentum.
busted diff. now working on swapping the diff out from my old vl that the missus wrecked. at least i have spares now(sort of) i'll post when it's moving again

got it going after a lot of dicking around, but the only thing that ended up needing modifing was a cut+shut of the two different tail shafts. yeah!
