Well this thing is as stock as they come, I've got quite a bit planned for it but it's nothing special.. this will eventually be my daily warrior..
Here's the specs off the plates:
VB8VK69
VB - VB Commodore
8 - Holden
V - V family of cars
K = Trim Level L (base model)
69 = Sedan
Build Plate Specs
L14: L6, 3.3-litre H/Comp.
M40: Automatic Transmission - Trimatic
GU4: Axle Ratio - Rear 3.08:1
Colour: 568-10981 - Firethorn (568 = Solid, not metallic)
Trim: 1189-63V (whatever that means.. tan L anyway)
It runs pretty well, it has a reco blue 202ci from either a VC or a VH..
Future possible planned mods and stuff:
- VH front end conversion
- Bolt on the red rust free VH boot we have lieing around
- VB and VH SL/E interior bits and pieces
- VH SL/X dash cluster
- Lots of security features
- (if it's possible) VL style interior locks
- VK Mirrors
- 15" wheels to replace the red stockies on it
- Basic audio system
- Classy neons (not overdone I mean, just for interior and boot)
- Possibly LED tail lights
- Mildly tinted tail lights
Of coarse all this comes after it's roadworthy.. I need it to be a road worthy car lol
Thanks for looking! Comments (nice ones) and suggestions always welcome![]()

Interior looks mint, rest looks crap
hey im honest!
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.
Hehe yeah the outside is a bit buggered, gonna one day hopefully get it resprayed red, get the VH front end on (which doesn't have a red grill) and put the non-red wheels on it.. Ironicly the thing I want to change the most at the moment is the interior and it's probably best condition thing on the car besides the motor lol
sounds like its gonna be simple and classy, will be nice im sure.![]()

Focus is firstly on the roadworthy (tires and some random crap), then the interior mods, then the exterior (inc paint job), going to get it painted by me mate, he's just done my bro's front end and it looks pretty good, great guy, used to paint exotics like porsche's and crap..Originally Posted by HoZy

And leave my greasy engine bay alone lol.. it adds to the authentic aged look
I'm going over there today (it's being stored at my bro's place because he has room lol) so I'll grab a picture for you then, should be here later tonight (I'll try to remember anyways!)Originally Posted by Goon
I've got the VH front end (except I lost 1 headlight.. somehow), and surprisingly it's all red.. anyways that might be one of the next quick mods I do, and I needed to cut off the headlight connectors from the blue VH because they're different from VB - VH.. you know there's going to be photo step-by-step when that happens![]()
There is something about VB/VC's that I like. Dunno what though. I have seen some really crap VB/C's come out looking mint after a bit of work done on them. Go for it.![]()
Thanks for all the comments guys, it's all appretiated (the good and the bad)..
Well I almost can't move, overworked myself today on this VH front end conversion.. I'll let the pictures do the typing, but first some things..
People told me this would be a simple bolt up conversion.. oh those were damn lies lol.. had to do some cutting at the front end under where the guard goes because the VH indicators go back further than the VB ones. Also one of the mounting points for the guard had to be bent upwards because it's sidewards on the VB, but it's getting there.. And another thing is the grill will NOT fit straight in, I'll have to drill 3 holes into the chassis to let the grill sit in there at all.. UCWEPN said he might do a bit of work on it tonight if I'm lucky (he's a good bro), I'll definately get some more done tommorow including finalising the drivers side (fully bolt it up and get the headlight/indicator mounted).. after that can focus on the grill, passenger side and the bonnet.
Ahh I had a nightmare with the front bumper bolts, it felt like they were cross-threaded lol.. anyhow here's the images I promised (hopefully in order).
I will continue to post as the build-up continues..

That must be a motor from a VH? i dont know what that big silver thing is near your water tanks.. My VC doesnt have that![]()
Hey Goon, I think that's the Air conditioning but I'm not 100%.. yeah my VB came with a reco blue motor, I'm guessing VC or VH..
Umm here's the picture you asked me for the other day, sorry for taking so long I forgot, just took it today!

Fuel regulator hey? What's that do? (I'm learning all the time lol)
Cheers!
Could be air con i know mine lacks that..
but fuel reg?? "if its okayi'll learn with ya juzza"
well that look like my fuel regulator on my car, same shape and all. think it keeps the fuel regulated to a consistant pressure and if there is to much spuwed out by the pump then it regulats it and slows it down to correct pressure and amount alowd though

Hey Juzza, why is the front right tyre flat? :my:
Looks like your cars getting there juzza, i forgot to say before :P You might find pictures of my car around here somewhere.. but they look almost alike apart form your mods, still same colour, dash etc..![]()
Keep it up, i know i will![]()
Give the man a prize, first person to notice! Both the front tyres are flat, I'm not exactly sure why.. I'm getting rid of those red wheels anyway, they're a bit too red and flat for my liking lolOriginally Posted by zoist
Cheers man, I know it's a lot of work, but the more we put in the better result/happier we'll be later on! I'm starting to collect VB-VL images for some inspiration, of all things I've seen a VY front end on a VL once.. fascinating fabrication involved in that.. have to find that one, it just spins me out everytimeOriginally Posted by Goon
Definately something to leave on the car then lol!Originally Posted by VL Berlina 5speed
I know I'm being a dreamer with this question but does anyone know if the black 202s EFI will bolt straight up or if it's too much work/money?
it can be done but u will need to get the loom and computa
and with carbys there is two fuel lines 1 return and 1 feed where efis have 4 2return 2 feed so u will need to run more pipes, but im not sure on that part of running more

Juzza dont even bother with the black 202's........there is no facility to tune the factory ECU so basically you cant mod them much past stock.Originally Posted by Juzza
Would be a cheaper and better idea to transplant a RB series engine or a Buick 3800......
