Hi Guys,
Just thought I would post up some info and pics of my newest toy.
It is an 82 VH SLX with the following mods -
Stroked and bored 253 taking it to 292 cubes
Chev 327 conrods
Chev 305 pistons
ARP rod bolts
Crow 222@.050" duration cam
Ported and flowed siamese exhaust port (non-VN) heads
New valves, hardened seats, h/d valve springs
Port matched std intake manifold with re-jetted and modded Quaddy carb
HDT branded cold air tray
Pacemaker extractors into twin 2.5 inch pipes into single 3" straight through muffler just before diff then single 3" pipe to rear
Stage 2 shift kitted Trimatic with 2500rpm stall converter
Std LSD 10 bolt Salisbury diff with 3.08 ratio
Pedders Sports Ryder springs and shocks all round
Slotted discs
ROH branded VT SS style 17" alloys with 235/45/17 Falken tyres
CD player, 6x9's in rear shelf, sub and amp in boot but who really wants to listen to CD's when there is a WORKD8 sitting under the bonnet
Car is in desperate need of a quality tune (anyone recommend someone worth while who can look after the quaddy, etc, in Melbourne? Western Suburbs prefered but not essential) Has not been dynoed so no power figures. Chirps the 235 Falken rears nicely on the 1 - 2 shift though...

an SL/E full length rear bumper and tail light extensions would set it off

Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
yeah really clean dude i can always appreciate an older commy restored like that
holy **** that is niiiiiiiiiiiice!!! very good job!!! my mates got one same colour and all in his garage waiting for the worked 253 to get dropped in.......he is taking his sweet ass time.........i guess when you are a mechanic you do enough car **** at work let alone at home
very nice though!!!! ill show my mate he will cream!!
Thanks for all the comments guys, I appreciate them.
I have only had the car a short while, wanted something to have some fun with on the weekends and tinker with etc.
I am very happy with it as is. I considered the SLE tailight extensions and rear bar but I think I like the look as it is. I think the light extensions might draw attention away from the number plates which I only got a few weeks ago. Now that was a find on the Vic Roads website I was VERY happy with !!! I couldn't believe they were available.
