im bored so thought id post up a thread for the ol VH lol
i forget i own it sometimes!
its been around and in the build with many different plans for a few years, so alot of small things have happened.
but this is the jist of things!

now a quick run down. i bought the car as a turbo 202 running methanol with a built engine etc
was good fun, but wanted to do something different, sooo after alot of twist and turns this is the uild im working on atm...
now most of this stuff is not fitted nor purchased as yet lol so dont jump the gun just yet
Colour: violette metallic
Bodykit: stock sle stuff
Current/future Setup (see below for previous) - items in bold acheived
Engine Type: 2JZ-GE from 95 supra
Engine Mods: 1.3mm head gasket to achieve 9.2:1comp, cam regrind, aftermarket valve springs, 6 runner distributor cap
ECU: jaycar programmable ignition system, MSD 6AL with boost timing retard
Bolt Ons: 800hp turbo, RICE racing water injection kit
Fuel System:Gas Research 480cfm t/b and twin b2 converter with twin outlet tank running twin gas lines
Power: planning for 400rwkw
Exhaust: 3" with single muffler dumped before the dif
Gearbox:worked full manual powerglide with 3500 stall
Diff:VL turbo LSD with 3.7 gears
Brakes: 4pot skyline calipers, Willwood underdash boosterless system
Suspension: superlow rears and super/ultra low fronts. koni adjustable front, monroe GT rear shocks - not fitted as yet
Wheels/Tyres: 4x15 and 8x15 interceptors with chrome trim
Interior: stock with sports steering wheel and full autometer dash
Other Mods: VK headlights and mirrors, debadged and de-pinstripped, hidden wires in bay and battery in boot, twin EF thermos, smoothed engine bay, VN radiator, hidden LPG system

Engine Mods:mild cam, ported head, roller rockers, starfire rods, balanced steel crank, arp stud kit, copper head gasket, HQ race pistons, opened chambers in head for reduced compression
Bolt ons as of aug 2005: t04e turbo on 8psi, strattaII draw through turbo manifolds, 38mm(i think) wastgate plumbed into screamer pipe
Bolt ons as of oct 2007: redline 4 barrel inlet manifold and extractors and GRA 90 degree 4 barrel adapter.
Future bolt ons: new custom exhaust manifold, intercooler and 4 barrel inlet with GRA 90 degree adapter, GT35r turbo on 20-25psi
previous fuel system: holley 700 carb, twin holley blue pumps and 3/8" fuel line
fuel system now: Gas Research 480cfm t/b and b2 converter - will be going to twin converters once cooler is fitted
Power as of aug 2005: was 180rwkw on meth,
current power: not much :P
Exhaust: 3" with single muffler dumped before the dif
Gearbox: worked full manual powerglide with 2800 stall

detailed the engine bay using maguires gear and used some touch up paint on the panels in the bay, also painted the overflow bottle, radiator thing and the grille the same color as the car. also removed some unwanted **** - power steering pump and some unused metal lines. looks much better
im real happy with how it turned out!
gave the interior a good clean too

yeah just a bit of a sleeper lol, man i love that dark blue interior vh sle's are my favourite of the series. and good on ya for wackin a turbo on her, proves the 202 is more that what some people think.

Looks choice m8! 700 on it? Did you have to get the intake made for the 4bbl or did it come with the kit?
yeah ive got a dyno sheet, but its not a graph just a printout
ill take a pic wen i cbf lol
the intake on the turbo is custom made, it has water running thru from the engine in the bottom just under the carby coz it used to be run on meth, but it takes any 4 barrel carb
its going for a tune in a few weeks so will get a new dyno sheet then, not sure if itl make 180 again but we'll see![]()

Love the blue rear passenger reading lights! Where'd you get the globes for them, how much they cost?
Also, if you have them, put the other 12 slotters on with the caps. Will look better, especially if you lower it a bit.![]()

finaly got around to doing a strait gas conversion using gas research gear, organised some rims and also some koni sport adjustable front shocks!

went to visit the VH today
battery is in boot and all engine bay wiring has been replaced and re routed so its not touching the exhaust manifold.... lol
and a few pics of a HK GTS my mechanics restoring, ###n mint as!! 95,000 genuine miles on it
also got a nice RWC list lol
MOSTLY little **** but almost the length of an essay!
pushrod cover gaskets (leaks)
steam clean engine
lower control arm bushes
trans corssmember (broken),
remove exsisting fuel system (unused hoses and pipes)
control arm bolts loose
new rear muffler,
fix bad earth for wiring (indicators)
fix reverse light switch in shifter
needs new carpet,
sunvisor clips,
no washer bottle,
centre console loose,
stearing column bearings,
boot lock,
boot light,
wheel nuts missing,
windscreen,
no horn pad,
adjust handbrake,
needs new rear calipers,
needs new seatbelts,
needs new indicator stalk,
4x new tyres,
wheel alignment,
p/s pump missing,
rear sway bar bushes,
needs shorter shocks or stock springs,
speedo cable not connected,

Nice HK, do your mechanic a favour and rub out the numbers on those plates though, theres alot of money sitting in that shed
Hell yeah..VH 202 turbo.. i still wish i hadnt sold mine few years ago.
180rwkw, that crazy for a 3.3l, heads must be ported pretty well..

the head has been ported alt apparently
but it made the 180rwkw on meth on 10-12psi i think
id estimate that itd make around 150-160rwkw on 9psi on gas, but will find out after a good dyno tune coz atm it pings wen it comes on boost lol
very nice man, i wish i knew how to turn mine into a turbo rekon it would be lots of fun to do, did u do it yourself/have it prof done, or did you buy the car with it already done? im not sure if you said which
Nice car bill its a pity it wont be there when i come round tonight would be nice to see it in the flesh. I had big plans for my VH which included supercharging it but i sold it all in the end. Anyways i'll see you tonight bout 8:30

i bought it already turboed and what not but have done everything except the gas conversion since and have big plans for the future.
i bought the car for $4k, the driveline would have had around 8-10k spent on it if it was performed by a workshop, so i wasnt too keen on spending that much on a turbo 202
the manifolds are the same as wat was bought out in the CDT packs in the 80s, its a strattaII setup.
u could do a turbo setup on a 202 pretty cheap, but wouldnt be able to handle massive power.
im aiming to get around 250rwkw out of this setup and it apparently should be ok to handle it![]()
Yeah i dont know if you should push it that hard man..I think 200rwkw will be quite enough for that light car, the engine has had lotsa work done but you dont want all that going down the drain..Just push it slowly 2psi at a time maybe.
yeah good buy for $4k..sle's are getting very rare..
250rwkw might be pushing it pretty hard, i wouldnt go further than 12psi..im not familiar with 202's much but 220rwkw will be plenty in a light VH. Wish i had that to play with..
the same bottom end is making 400rwhp in the red torana hatch in perth running 25psi+
and thers plenty of other similar setups running around that power
so 250rwkw isnt out of the question at all![]()
