Default Carbi

I have put a new carbi kit into a Vk 6cl commondore and the car wont run. It starts with the choke on full and reeves up and down like it's got a lumpy cam. It wont reve or keep on running. It worked before the kit, even though the accelerator pump was upside down. It used to bunny hop a lot too. I also just brought the car.

First up, no need for the massive red font (makes it hard to read - and you will get less replies if people can't be bothered to read it)

Secondly, what kind of kit? Bodykit?

I'll take a stab and say its a carb kit.
Lord knows what carb your running but by the ADHD style of posting i'd say you've stuffed up the re-kit.
Carbs are finely engineered metering systems and unless you have some experience with how they operate theyre not something you can just 'take a crack at.'
We could probably fire off some suggestions at you but its pretty hard to know whats going on with it unless we're standing there.
Mate, since you cant diagnose its behaviour yourself, go to a professional as it may even need rebuilding.

The carbi is the standard one varajet 2. I'm not a person that is inexperienced with cars. I'd rather fix it myself then have to go and get it rebuilt.

My uncle who is a mechanical and engineer said he wouldn't even rebuild my varajet coz there's sumfin which has to be done to it that he couldn't do, and apparenty not many people can.....so he advised me to get it professionally done. Fully rebuilt varajets are on ebay for about $190 from a shop over in the eastern states I rekon. I'd go for one of them.

major vacuum leak, while the choke is on the extra fuel minimises the effect of the extra air in the system, well thats what it sounds like to me

Well... Honestly smiley, throw it in the bin and get a weber off an XE Ford from the wreckers, adapter plates are cheap as and youll have a much better carb, better economy and more responsive.
Even a rebuilt varijet is only good for 4-5 years max before they sh!t themselves again, float gets soaked and cant meter properly etc.

this might sound like a stupid question, but have you tried tuning the petrol & airflow on the carby?
when i put a kit through mine it wouldnt idle for more then a few seconds before cutting out and sounded like it had a monster cam in it, when it drove it it shuddered alot, all it needed was a retune and its been fine since.

when i had my vk i had the exact same problem and it turned out it was just a blown fuse of some sort (took it to a mechanic because these carbies are a b,itch to work on). so i couldn't tell you exactly which fuse.

try checking your fuses before you go stuffing around it may save alot of heartache.

I run a Webber on my blue motor, it uses a fair bit of fuel even though it is tuned for econnomics, its because I run the 250 jets, however it makes great horse power, just gotta clean up your spark plugs every so often but that is easy.
