Chris' HDT VK SS

its been 2yrs since i last put up a pic of my car so though id update with some new pics. since the last pics (2006), the car has been resprayed ( picked it up 23rd Feb 2008 ) and has had more engine work done.

engine mods now:
308 block, 40 thou
rebuilt bottom end, pistons bearings etc etc
"B" cast heads machined to suit double valve springs
Crane double valve springs
Crane cam ( decent size, awsome lump at idle, power band 2200rpm to 6200rpm )
Crane chromoly collets and retainers
Crane anti pump lifters
new rochester carbie
JP gear drives
JP oil pump

other stuff:
rebuilt Std 3.08 LSD diff
rebuilt M21 gearbox
retrimmed seats ( original SS material, done 3 odd years ago now but still like new )
resprayed Feb 08
new headlights ( to be fitted )
new taillights ( to be fitted )
SS stickers ( to be fitted )

stuff to come:
new door trims
new carpet
new roof lining
restore the 15" Aeros i have in the shed

How much power do you reckon it's making with that combo?

no idea yet, i haven't had it back on the road long enough to get it dynoed or put it down Kwinana..... but i will!
before rebuild # 1 though it made 175.5rwhp. since then both rebuilds have been done ( well #1 was a rebuild, # 2 was just a cam change plus top end stuff )

Did you get a performance rebuild on your M21? Cos I have just acquired a 202 4spd VK, and I'm wondering how much power they can handle.

nah, standard rebuild

if the 202 4spd is being used for a 202 then ok, dont use for a V8, they are different. the M21 isnt a strong box as such but if you drive it respetfully they arent too bad. i busted the cluster gear plus input shaft/gear.

Sniff !!! I miss my old VK Brocky Faker...it was practically an SS... it had original HDT spoilers a 304, 4spd, and LSD... and I'm lead to believe all the 1985 4spd 304's scored the Brock heads aswell !!!

I like your SS !!! your boot spoiler looks like it came of a VL SS tho ! They were meant to be like the flat ones fitted to the VK group3... no ?
