nice is that a new paint job if not very good cond
it was in an accident hit the front door shortly after my granddad purchased it and it got a full respay in the same colour when it got fixed. so not the original paint job but may as well be. just washed it today (in the pics) and it comes up so good. people (mainly girls lol) dont like the colour cuz it brown but i would respray it the same colour if i had to.
Love the paint and the way she sits, looks ****ing tough as!
been a while since ive seen the ol girl, seems to be coming along nicely.still cuts a clean line.
the germans designed it, the aussies built it, the japs got it moving and the wogs got it dosing...
nice paint mate, and like the stance looks tough
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Those of you with V8 turbo & supercharged arse holes please use 1st or 2nd gear as this toilet is not fitted with MUDFLAPS.
got a strut brace the other day just for a laugh...actually felt a small difference but only high speed sweeping corners, felt safer, more stable. had to put the old slimmer air filter instead of the tall k&n for clearance. looks a little funny that it only attaches to 2 of the 3 strut bolts but wont affect it, would just look nicer if it did. also the bay is very dirty in the pic...thermo fan soon to come, then get onto fixing the dizzy
VH now officially my project car (*trumpets sound*)...
I've got alot of ideas for the car but i change my mind every week so i'll give you ones that i will prob stick to.
future mods: VL running gear - rb30et, intercooler, fully rebuilt jatco box (high stall converter), spooled borgworner diff, vl fuel tank/pump, vl sway bars (they are thicker than vh's)
B&M pro ratchet shifter, roll cage (not sure on full or half), maybe race bucket seats & new black carpet & gauges otherwise stock interior, full nolethane bush kit, already started on vk berlina rear light conversion (had to remove chrome stripping etc), fully smoothed and painted engine bay (if i could be bothered lol) new exterior paint later down the track (the brown is in very good condition as is)...thats the main stuff that should easily be done by end of the year.
Very nice looking VH, good plans you got with it. Ever thought bout sticking an injected 304 in there?
yes that was my plan before this one...few reasons i changed, i helped a mate turbo his r31 and it goes nuts on just stock internals(first time ever at drags got 14.4 he's aiming for 13.9), i like to drive my cars so it will defiantly be driven alot and i can get better fuel consumption with an rb30et than a stock 202 lol, also i can pick up a complete vl for cheaper than a vn v8 swap it over add a turbo and bobs your uncle.
i am a v8 man but imo a turbo'd vh will be a bit more unique and surprise a few ppl. (even tho its been done alot before, not as much as 304 tho) it will be a sleeper, pretty quiet, hidden intercooler (none of this cutting away the front end!! UGLY!)
update: wired up and installed vl tail lights, using them till i buy vk berlina ones, going to modify them by cutting off the tabs that hold the centre garnish as im not using one. that all went sweet but any1 that lives in brisbane will know how windy its been last few days...i had my car parked uncovered down at the garage as i started the lights at night and left it there to finish in the morn...came down next day and found a massive gum tree branch had fallen onto the vh!!! damage report is, 1 shattered windscreen, dented roof, rooted left front guard, dented bonnet, broken aerial and indicator, scratches all over front!....sighi'll post pics tomoz.
oh man thats gotta suck big time, its been pretty good here wind wise we a got abit the day after the storms but it settled down the day after.
aright well I've been really lazy and haven't taken any pics yet...but it might turn out to be a good thing in the long run (but bad for my wallet). seeing as i got to get a new guard and possibly bonnet and the ding on the roof fixed, i may as well paint it all with some fresh paint. im thinking metallic gun metal grey...any thoughts? progress has been slow as im hunting for another job at the moment but pulling the 202 out in the next few days, starting to pull things off it tomorrow so pics will follow.![]()
got a bit carried away...lol started by taking off the rooted guard then the rest just followed...can see this turning into a full rebuild.![]()
small update, 202 is out but might go back in soon...however there will be something large hanging off the side of it...gearbox will have to be rebuilt to handle the new power, rb30 conversion is no more as i got no time anymore cuz i work 15hours a day. hoping for somewhere near 300hp with the build so roughly triple what its got now...should be fun and streetable. if i got some leftover money i'll paint it metallic silver...conservative but should look good.![]()
If you need any advice or an engine builder talk to robbie at rjb at lawnton, i personally know robbie and hes great with a holden six and has an high 12 low 13 sec fj powered by a n/a holden 6. rjb autos is predator race engines Unit 4 20 Paisley Dr LAWNTON (07) 3889 6834.
aight man thanks i'll check him out when i get the cash, thanks man. 12-13 sec fj is a farken good achievement.
nice job, recently bought a VH myself; can u give me any pointers?
ok so havent been on here for a little bit, been pretty busy with the new job and i just moved out of home. anyways progess so far is i bought an extensively worked 186 red motor off StarfireVC. not exactly legal i believe regarding engine laws but i dont really see why cuz when u work holden straight 6's in the end they all turn out with the same gear in it so im not worried. i'll post some pics when its in which should be very soon. its got all the good gear in it and certainly looks the part. should have easy 200hp at the fly im thinking. i'll wack her in and run it in but going to have to rebuild the gearbox at some stage before it calls it quits. got an msd ignition kit on the way and gave up trying to decide of a better carb and got a 350 holley. wasnt prepared to pay nearly 300 bux for pacemaker extractors so went to wreckers and got some genie tuned length ones for 45 bux, cleaned up fine going to paint em heat proof black tomoz.
O and after its run in i should have the cash for the supercharger, so im excited to see how it goes with that. do my best to keep ya posted!
update. sorry dont have pics atm. motor is in and running. got no exhaust on it atm so just the headers. i knew it would sound good but holy hell sounds like a monstrous v8. it scares mum lol. haven't driven it yet just need a fuel tank.. it starts so well too. the old blue motor ran perfectly but this one starts and idles just as good even with the 30/70 crow cam. don't even need any choke. lots of pics to come and any1 that wants to go for a cruise in bout a month im in.
update: although not many people are interestedexhaust will be fitted during the week, and windscreen will be replaced soon after so i'll be cruising round by the end of the week
just got to go for a few mountain runs to run the new motor in. then i'll save some funds for a gearbox rebuild so i can put some power down without worrying bout it breaking. then i'll save some more and we should see the charger bolted onto the side of the 6 in the not too distant future.
then i can go test her at the strip, see what it gets.
this isnt by anychance the 510POK VH parked outside the childcare along zillmere rd in geebung (i think its zillmere rd)
if so that is bloody clean and i love staring at it as i drive my poor stocker past![]()
howa the new engine going?
sure is buddy. i work at Platinum automotive solutions cross the road. we should meet up sometime.
new engine was going strong till disaster struck. pulled over cuz there were massive loud banging noising coming from it. turns out the rocker studs are standard press in ones when with the big valve springs and such should be screw ins. also the springs are binding cuz it seems they aren't suited to the cam...so had to pull the head off to get that fixed. so its off the road atm but should be going again in a week or 2.
still need to run it in and get a new dizzy and blueprint it to the cam and tune the carb to suit but it still struggles for traction off the line...which is what u want![]()
