yeah got console in tonight. handbrake boot doesnt fit and had to chisel off the hi rise bracket. it looks alright.
looking at getting some old vw transporter grab hand arm rests for it. the original ones arnt painting to well.

took it for a drive to the petrol station tonight to fill it up but thats like 100m haha.
but there was oil leaking everywhere. so gotta pull the gearbox out tomorrow so its all good

Thats a one of the best examples of a VK I've seen any day. Nothing over done, but everything done properly and neatly..

thanks.. well i found out the old hilux ones fit so i have 2 just need to more then pait them and put them in. wish i could keep it without but every time someone gets in its such a hassle to close the door.

I was 17 when the VK was released and can still remember the excitemnt it created for everyone, it truely was a "world class car"
it's good to see you kept some class inside the car,
truely a tastefull rebuild, drive it carefully and enjoy!

auto electrician was working on it yesterday and it got away on him. the door was open and hit the wall and bent all that backwards and smashed a few panels.. had her on the road for 2 weeks till its back in the shop

just order the spring you want and fit them yourself, should be like 130 bucks a pair for springs. the rear is easy to lower but i've never done the front

yeah but its just a pain.. started repairing the front guard the other night its pretty out of shape so needs a fair bit of work. quote was around 4 grand mark.

yeah i got quote for 1 grand not fitted because i want decent springs in it

What brand springs are they?

You can get king springs, or lovells, on here from GSL RallySport, for around the $250 -$280, for all four,
And they will do a deal for springs and lowered shocks together, for around $700 probly cheaper for an older model like yours... any height you want..


I'm not sure how much she'd be worth, as they are getting old now, but it would probly be worth more to you and your dad, with the amount of time and effort thats gone into it..
Just do an engine conversion, get something more powerful, and with better fuel economy, with all new wiring, and you shouldnt have a problem with it for a while...?
