    hey guys n gals.
this i my Vk commo, its a 4 speed manual, carbied 202 black motor and right now it doesnt run

atm i suspect the carby is f**ked because all the plugs are sparking, and its happening in the right order at the right time, except it wont start up, with aerostart, it will kick a little but no more.

    anyway, heres some pics:

    YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
    she runs

turns out the timing was about a 6th of a rotation out.
at the moment, its idling kinda rough...but idling non the less. and as soon as i open up the throttle to get the second half of the carby working, it starts to die a bit, so that side may need a tune, or just needs a decent clean up and a workout.

anyway, now that the beast runs..i can get it in and out of the workshop easily, and finally get to work on fixing it up.

been slowly doing a bit of work on the vk after work some days.
decided to chuck some wheels next to it, which do you think looks better?

    15 Inch 5 spokers:

17 Inch Shadow Chrome Starcorp Tracers:

also been fixing up the panels abit. mostly stone chips, and marks from bad driving or it being broken into

    opinions?

i know this isnt the busiest of threads, but now that the holidays have come around and ive been able to work abit, i decided to get some new brakes for the vk and i wanted some advice...heres the goodies:

    disc diff with slotted discs

vt front brakes on slotted discs

full set of lowered shocks and springs

    and adjustable strut tops

also came with a VT master cylinder and brake booster.

could someone please shed some light on fitting the brake master and booster? or is there already a detailed thread hidding on the site somewhere?

and how do i remove the lower ball joints? the previous owner of these parts decided they couldnt be bothered removing them, so just cut the control arm in half with an angle grinder

ive bought a holley 350 to go on the 202 for a bit, until i can find a suitable donor car.
just wondering if anyone knows what jets i should be using in it? completely stock motor...but anything is better than the rochester :P

it has 62s in it at the moment, and was jetted to suit some english 4.2ltr v8

went to dyno tune today and got some hose fittings, new leads and 2 pairs of jets for the carby. some 58s and some 60s. i read somewhere someone was running 59s on their 202 but the shop didnt have them so ill try the 60s and if its too rich ill go the 58s.

im having a little trouble with the Holley 350. its all mounted and im pretty sure there are no leaks anywhere. when i turn the engine over, fuel comes pissing out the float bowl breather, and it wont start. tried spraying aerostart down the throat as well and still no luck. checked ignition again and its still working perfectly.

any ideas? do holleys have a fuel return?

Internationals and no rear springs...what more could you ask for

...except for it being a little lower at the front too

ok, turns out it was flooding. somethings up with the float.
got it working okish now. not sure if its rich or lean, it backfired up through the carby hinting towards it being lean, but i think the jets are too big so im not sure.

also...some weird shit goin on with the harmonic balancer :S

    see the grooves?

got the new harmonic balancer on today...no more knocking on the fan yes, it was quite f**ked

probably going to finally get around to putting the vt front brakes on this weekend...but plans being plans, they never come out the way you want them to

the holley is also almost dialed in. doesnt piss fuel out anymore, just needs the idle lowered, the mixture adjusted (playing with jets...yay) and a braket made to hold the throttle cable. starts up perfectly everytime atm.

yea, i saw it as a good way to learn all the things that wont be done by your every day mechanic while i turn it into something unique. i plan on putting an injected engine in, but i still went and bought another carby just so i could learn how to tune it.
