Hi,
I broke my old indicator stalk and not knowing too much about cars I was wondering how much difficulty there is in replacing it with a new one. I bought a new one a few weeks ago, it's just a matter of figuring out what exactly to do.![]()
Pretty easy but you have to take the steering wheel off ....mark wheel to shaft first so it back on right and also undo the screws holding the shroud under the alloy housing and disconnect the wiring connector undo the single screw that holds the stalk to the mechanism and thread wiring and connector between indicator mechanism and alloy housing.Reciprocate
This is my vr that I rebuilt ....CLICK HERE to see my vr on Cardomain

Just one tipwhen you undo the nut on the steering wheel remove the lock nut then loosen tot he end of the thread the main nut but DO NOT remove the nut. When you pull on the steering wheel to break the friction join it wont smack you in the mouth
It should be pretty straight forward from there
lol, speaking from experience are we?![]()
I'm gonna do it tomorrow when it's not so dark.
Also, just one more quick question. Should my head unit not fit properly in the dash? It seems extremly tight.
Nah I have always done it that way, its the way my dad showed me. I have however seen someone do it without the nut they nearly ended up on the back seat with a rather sore face
What sorts of head unit?
I fitted 2 pioneers to my cars both fitted nicely no problems.
hahaha.
Its a Panasonic CD/MP3 player. Just a cheapie. I think I got it for about 200 bucks.
And another question to add to that...lol. What do you think about these sorts of car audio packages that sell on ebay reasonably cheap?

At the moment I've got 2 6x9s in the back running. Would one of these improve what I have by much? They sorta look cheap and nasty...but not having a endless supply of money it looks like quite an attractive option. Should I buy or not even bother?
Follow vkberlina's tip on removing the steering wheel - I joined the sore face club when I first did mine.
As for the head unit, it's a standard DIN size in that model commodore and it should be a snug fit. But you may have trouble with the depth of the hole depending on how the ducting and wiring is positioned in the rear of the dash.
ahahaha, maybe you shouldn't have told me so you could have a good old laugh then
I got it all off, all went good. Thanks for all the help guys.
