no tail lights on me car

got a small issue something minor i reckon on my vh project i have no back tail lights have changed the globes i have blinkers, but no tail lights etc. checked the earth to the chassis, a small wire is hooked up, do i need to make a new earth?

Do your brake lights work??
Try checking your fuses first.
Do your head lights work?
Check your wiring harness plug that the tail light harness connects into inside the right rear quarter near the filler neck inside the boot.

i just bought a set of black ALTEZZA tail lights for my 94 VR. i bought them over EBAY so they arent here yet, i have never taken lights out before, so dont know what im doing, but i does look pretty easy to do? am i wrong? is it difficult?
