probably not the answer but di you put that anti squeel goo on the back of the pads?

when you say shiiing, do you mean like a metal sound? like when knights take their swords out o sheaths in movies? or like gas escaping?

If it's your Brake Booster, then your pedal will be heaps harder to operate.

Just replaced mine twice in a VK carby 6, biatch of a job!!!

1st one was a VK dual-diaphram V8 unit, but only one diaphram was good. Had boost, but still had "wooshing" noise.
2nd was from a VL and works perfectly.

I can't see how changing pads would upset the Booster, but stranger things have happened!

When you say he put new disc brakes on, what did he actually replace?

so a vl one fits in vb vc vh and vk will it fit with a v8 ?
