Hi, in have a vc commodore with a reconditioned carbie (varajet II just done), 3.3 blue motor and when left for 3 - 4 days has trouble starting. It will crank but won't start, then when the carbie gets fuel in it will then start. I have also replaced the fuel pump as well. It's like the carbie doesn't have any fuel in it. Does anyone have any help or advice or suggestions as to what may be the cause????
Thanks.
float level could be wrong, could be the guy starting it too, give the pedal 3 good pumps then try starting it.
Else rip the top off the carb check the accelerator pump & float level, not much goes wrong witht he varajet
cheers
Scott

tried the 3 good pumps and still have the same problem. the carbie has just been reconditioned and the float level was set by the mechanic. and he knows how to start it, this problem has just been happening recently.
Is the fuel evaporating over the 3-4 days when not in use?
I dont know how big the float bowl is on the carby but fuel does evaporate rathy quickly.
