hey guys so today i was doing some wiring and in that stage there was a punch of wires taped to gather in between the radiators in the process of pulling it out i pulled some house out and no idea where it came from and looks like it hasnt been used in a long time, i think it is the over flow tube?? but any way where does this go?? i uploaded a picture for you red circle around the hose is the one i dont know where it is ment to be...
thanks for help,, i pushed car out of drive way cause was scared i would loose shit load of coolent..

Correct.... Red one is over flow purge?, no idea why it was had a hose clamp on it though, move the hose clamp to the green one, so the green one has a hose clamp on both ends.
The red one doesnt need a clamp, the other end of it should tuck down below the over-flow bottle through the body and aim towards the ground. All the red one does is if pressure is very high it dumps cooling to prevent the cooling system from bursting.
Also check they are on the right parts at the over flow bottle. The green one should line up to the nozzle.
well the green end at the radiator needs to be re - welded its just sitting there at the moment.. haha nah fuel still using shit load but have not had time... maybe next week ill get my uncles mate to tune it cause hes old school then se if it makes difference but if not ill get it rebuilt and new airline hoses.. thermostat still leaks some times.. only like couple drops.. need new one i reckon i dno haha

Ahh ok, well it will lose coolant everytime it gets hot, so probs get it welded soon or try and pick up a new radiator cheap.
Did you end getting a new carby, or just gonig to try your original first? Personelly if you can afford to, replace it anyway caus cause it terrible for cracking carby gaskets.
Yeah you might need a new thermostat housing and gasket, if its buckled. Probs the easiest fix, if a new one leaks, then try Gasket goo etc.
yeah sweet mate... i herd you can get kits to rebuild carbies, um yeah i have a tac welder should be good enough the water dont really over flow i have never seen water come out of the radiator yet..
yeah i might get a thermostat housing from pick a part and clean it up really good ang get new gaskets...
i did put that sticky goop stuff on it, how long do i have to leave it to dry cause i left it over night to dry but was leaking a day later. (kept applying it on the out side helped a lot)
thanks tom

lol, whats a tac welder?
anyways, you do NOT wanna weld the overflow fitiing, it needs to be flared out and soldered or brazed (oxy) into place. the second you stick a welder on there it will melt the cap fitting and will never seal. anyways from the pic it looks to me like the two hoses are around the wrong way. the red one with the clamp is for overflow and the green one goes to the ground.
with the gasket goo, make sure you use some silicone like RTV high temp (my favorite) and let it dry for about 10 mins. if it dries overnight you should apply a thin amaount to it so both sides stick. dont worry if it squeezes out in bubbles around the housing, they will just come off with a small amount of rubbing, but try not to get too much inside the housing cos itll get caught up in the cooling system and cause headaches.
