i have a set of 18x8 wm caprice rims for my vk. i have been told that they would fit fine, but i just put them on and they rub on the strut where the spring sits. they have been spaced 4mm off the hub, but still just touch. has anyone overcome this problem or do i need a new set of wheels?
The best way of fixing this problem is to buy wheels that are designed for your car. Spacers are dangerous and illegal, further more, if you have spaced it that far out and are still rubbing - these wheels are not good for your car.

just give the spring seat a hit up with a big hammar it works i done it just do it as much as you need to stop it rubbing
I would have thought it better to buy a new car for the wheels.. Afterall the wheels would be worth more.

All you really need to know is...
He's called The Stig!
Check the tyre size VE 18 have higher profile than VB to VZ.
and check the width if you get a smaller width tyre the sidewall will stretch on meaning less side wall flex and also the sidewall will be pulled in instead of hanging over
you could also get the chasis off a landrover discovery and swap it for your k-frame.
ive heard thats a quick fix.
the guy i bought them off told me they would have no problem on a vk, but apparently they only fit VN - VZ now, his story changed after i handed him the cash so i just bought different rims.
You will need to get the center of them bored out a little but will need the tyres off to do this. Don't bother putting the factory tyres back on because they will not fit. You will have to buy new tyres which have a smaller side wall and are not as wide in order for them to clear the guards/struts.
unless you like them that much, more hassle than its worth I reckon.
Put them on ebay and get a correct fitting set Im afraid.....
