Bought a 79 VB sedan

Gday Guys and Gals , Just bought a 79 VB with a 179 stroker rada rada she is a bit rough around the edges I pick her up on the weekend ,

also bought a 2.8 and a 3.3 motor 3.3 has been shaved honed etc ready to reassemble
also came with a nice lumpy cam That once lived in a LX Trana

so I plan on painting tidying etc and giving this 30 yr old girl a new lease on life
blocks came with all chrome and stuff purdy

Im not a mechanical genius have mates that do cars
Im in a midlife learning curve I know a lil about mechanics to keep out of trouble but havent rebuilt a full engine before any websites to read

Ahhh yes, the midlife learning curve, apllies to a lot more than cars,
Ak a few questions on JC and there are heaps of members who seem to know a lot more than a lot of mechanics, good luck with the project, get us updated

Good on ya Mate.

I am going thru the same thing. Got the bug helping my son rebuild a 1982 VH. Fitted an RB30 5spd LSD VNV8 brakes lowered it and fitted 30mm sway bars. New paint.

So I bought a 1979 Flamenco red VB. This time I am fitting a worked 3.8 litre 5 speed VNV8 LSD and discs all round. I have rebult the front end lowered it and fitted a 30mm front sway bar. Have collected all the parts , got approval from the Engineers so the rebuild is about to start.
