When I stop at lights or a stop sign or whatever and then take off, there is a thudding noise from the back of the car that almost sounds like your going over train tracks....any idea what it is ?

check for anything that may be loose like an exhaust or upper or lower control arms.

Also check for buggered tail shaft unis, or a tailshaft centre bearing it could be flogged out

also pop your boot and make sure there's nobody gaffa taped and hog tied inside thumping your bootlid trying to get out.....
i had the same symptoms on my vk a while ago... it was a the centre bearing
can be in the suspension. worn bits and pieces. also like the idea of checking for anythnig loose inteh boot.
thats what the guy at the repair shop said, that it isnt aligned, and when u take off it straightens up and the sound goes away....he was supposed to fix it but the noise still happens so Ill have to get back to him on that.Originally Posted by kooloo
