    Exclamation AC making awful noise VK

    i got a vk and the AC (i think) is making a terrible squealing noise when turned on or revved when ac is off.. would could this be??

    Could be the clutch bearing on the compressor, or a loose belt.

    i was thinking belt untill i turned the ac on (usually just used window) and it squeeled like all hell

    so it squealed more with the ac on? sounds like the belt cause when the ac is on the pump is engaged and becomes harder to turn, thus y the car revs usually change with ac on. Just check how tight the belt is by pressing on it where it is in between the 2 pulleys and let us know how tight it is

    yeah the belt is loose, spray some "stop squeel" on it, or if your feeling really dodgie, spray some rubber glue on it

    or maybe just adjust it... one fat-arse bolt on the pulley wheel, loosen the bolt, put pressure on the pulley wheel (opposite direction to the crank pulley), then tighten up the bolt.

    easy.

    thanks.. when you push the belt it moves about an inch, maybe a little less down..
