HEI install?

Hey guys no doubt someone out there is familiar with this install. I was going to buy a factory distributor replacement in there but opted for a MSD HEI Dizzy from ebay instead.

Reason for this was i was having alot of starting problems, and replaced all the plugs, still happened. So replaced the leads, still wouldnt kick over, it takes a few cranks before it'll start up. So going to try and replace the old dizzy with this one. and was looking at putting it in the vb this weekend hopefully.

Just wondering since its electronic would connecting a switched wire to the starter motor be acceptable power? and also when pulling the old coil and dizzy out, where do the wires that come from the loom and onto the old coil goto as on the eletronic theres only a power source and tach source? Or are the wires that come from the loom the tach? actually after writing this i realised it is.. im dumb.. im sure it is.. hehe anyways Has anyone done this install in their cars that have pics or something or could help me out? cheers

positive wire that went to the + of the coil for power to feed HEI .tacho wire from negative of coil now goes on tach of HEI done

ugh. ebay ignition stuff=fail.

and this is from my expierence too, not word of mouth. had a "high performance coil" that ran out of spark after 6000 kms.
