Default Want indicator lights constantly on, is it possible?

This might be so stupid that i'll get laughed at. Is it possible to wire the front indicator lights so that you have a switch to turn them on (without blinking) just like headlights. I still want them to blink if i indicate.

Or will i find that this to stupid. To let you know straight away i'm not good with wiring but willing to learn. Thanks in advance

Will be very hard to make possible. Only thing you can do that comes close is wire the indicators to the headlights. But, by doing this you wont be able to use your idicators when the headlights are on as they will blow. Sure, you could wire up a switched circuit, but again you wont be able to use the indicators normally.

Its possible... im not sure how to go about it exactly, but it would be hard to set it up, to have a switch so when the switch is on the blinker is straight on, and when the switch is off, the blinker works as usual, would be similar to wiring in spot/driving lights into the high beam, they have a bypass switch.

BUT WHY?? Why do you want to do this? lol.

Good question, i ask myself the same thing sometimes...

It's a thought that just popped into my head after i saw it on a VB/C one day. And remembered some older cars used to have something like that (or i might have been dreaming).

How badly do you want/need your hazard lights? Could you do something with the relay for your hazards? This would probably sting you if you got it inspected, especially around pink/blue/green slip time but that might be an option. I'm no good with wiring either.

So what actually controls the blinking? Maybe if i run an extra wire from that or an extra wire from the lights them selves and as Tom_1569 said put a switch that turns them on and then if you you turn it off it works as usual.

you could wire them up to the parkers and then intercept/override the circuit with the indicator, but just think, its a VH, I can garantee you at some stage this probably happen without you wanting it to anyway, lol, I love the VB-VH commo's, but they are CRAP for all light wiring. Probably illegal too.

it'd be really easy actually. just hook them up to a relay. you will need to hook up two poles if you want them to turn off when you indicate though. so you will need battery constant, earth, indicator power from your flasher can(which will be to the 'off' position on the relay) ignition 'on' and a wire to either both fronts or both rear lights. the existing wires in the car will connect the front and back but your interior indicators will be always on though.

also. the cops would love that mod to pieces. you know how they love to meet their quota. and it would look stupid (in my opinion) but your choice.

*edit, ugh. just realised that you will need two relays or all four lights would come on each time you indicated, so basically what i wrote before, but twice. one relay per side.

    Easy peasy man...

Run 4 wires to the indicator wires "post" the indicator relay. Run diodes to ensure the new circut and the old circut are not integrated at all.

Join the four new wires together and then attach them to a relay along with a positive constant and earth. Take a wire from the battery and place a switch on that, it will be your on off switch for the new setup. Wire this as your trigger.

    So:

+12 ------ RELAY --------DIODE------{split to four different wires} -------- Attach to indictor wiring post the flasher relay (do it just before the globe)

I can draw a picture if you need it...

    aZk.
    Wanted to buy:

    1. T5 V8 Bellhousing and Clutch fork assembly suit VP
    2. V8 Tail Shaft, T5, Suit IRS VP
    3. T5 VB Gear Box

PM Me if you got what i need...

even easier just run some double filament bulb holders like all HQ etc front indecaters were as they were park and indecater in one unit.wire one filament of the bulb as normal for the idecaters and run the second ones off a switch no need for relays and stuff they will only be 5W max for the bulbs a switch would handle that or tee them into park light wireing if you want them too come on with the lights

"delcowizzid" is on the money, the bulbs are readily available and they were used in HR's not HQ .
It would need the "dwel" or "light holder" to be modified at the front indicators, the rears you can just cut and splice the brake light lamp to work. Then you just have two seperate circuits.

    but I agree "why"? LOL

Yeah alright, thanks for the help guys, i thought about it and it is stupid. But that does not mean that if someone does it and has a how to on it i won't do it as well.

Seriously if someone does this and gets it working i'd like to see it.
