    Default Cutting hole in bonnet

Hi Guys . I'm wanting to cut a hole in the bonnet of my VH for my 14inch filter . Whats the best way to cut the hole and how do you measure where to cut the hole ? Thanks in advance .
    Cheers Mick .

Get a longer stud for your carby and let the bonnet down just enough to make a small mark on the underside. Then drill a 12mm hole where the mark is and close the bonnet. The stud should be sticking through the 12mm hole you just drilled. Tie a piece of string to the texta and the stud at the required length, which would be about 7 1/2 inches and draw a circle with the texta. Once marked, you can use a nibbler to cut the bonnet although i've heard of a few people using jig saws or grinders to cut the hole too. Please note, I have not done this myself and just heard of people doing it this way. So, if you make any mistakes...don't blame me. Alternatively, take it to a professional.
