Default EFI 5.0L conversion - Steering rack?

I was hoping to run a manual rack in my VK with the EFI 5.0L, but it doesn't seem to fit with the T700. Wat have people done when doing their EFI conversion?

I guess I could use the rack and pump out of the VQ which is my donor car, but I'd have to change the whole kframe over hey? (or will the VQ rack fit the VK kframe?) If this was the case, would the VK radius rods and control arms fit into the VQ kframe?

Wat if I use a VK power steering rack, would this clear the trans?

And also, has anyone used a Commo rack with the Astra electric power steering pump? I know a mate who has done it on his VL dirt circuit car, but haven't had a look at how he's done it, but that's another option I'm considering.

Thx guys. Well looks like I'll be using power steering. I'm using the stock extractors (they're tubes, not cast), and hopefully my mate can mod the exhaust to fit. He works at an exhaust shop (also one of our sponsors for the race car), and he rekons he should be able to get it to work.

Did u get the Pacemaker efi extractors Bryza? How much were they and where did ya get them from?

Ya know I converted the VK to manual steering, and now gotta change it back to power steering. And I changed it over to a manual trans (with the last motor I had for it) so put the manual pedal box in and manual floor plate, and now it's going back to auto lol.

Did ya have to get the threads changed on the power steering lines?

Just found a power steering rack out in the shed....woohoo....didn't even know I had one haha, thought I'd have to go fork out for one at a wreckers.

Do ya know if manual steering tie rod ends fit the power racks and are ok to use? It's just I bought new ones for the manual rack and I wouldn't wanna waste them....even spent a few hours cleaning up and painting the manual rack....waste of time that was lol.

yeah your tie rod ends should be the same. i had a new high pressure line made for mine only because a mate from enzed owed me a favor, but just check the vq fittings. the thread maybe the same on the high pressure line. the return line you can just cut and run transmition line and hoseclamps..
