Default VH SL/E Original burgandy carpet, anyone know who has some left?

    Hi All,

I need to freshen up the interior of the VH, it has the burgundy interior and the carpet which is on the floor, doortrims and behind the seats is burgundy with blue flek through it. Apparently it is the same colour as the Brocky's but the pile is Super plush not Loop like the Brocky. I know a few trimmers keep these older colours aside, anyone got any ideas of who to call? I'm looking at getting it done next week in plain burgundy if I cant find the right colour. I know these older parts are hard to get so I will consider shipping from any state.
    Thanks

thanks anyway but I tried today, they are very good, have used them a few times, only problem is they only have the straight burgundy, I think I might be down to the smaller trimmers that have some lying around. Its not a common colour other than the SLE commos.

ebay!!! *is not a dirty word*

knox carpets sell all their stuff on ebay with postage. they are quite good, but they are not original. i think their stuff may be minus the rubber footwell, but could be wrong. try a wrecker for OG stuff

Knox Carpets are great . Just fitted mine to my VH . Mine has the rubber footwell . I think they are a standard thing to have the footwell ????

yeah Knox do heaps on eBay, same deal, not the right colour, I'm not real keen on wreckers for carpet, if the cars at the wreckers the carpet isn't in the best condition. Might try the Commwreck and Allcom places anyway but not expecting too much. Still if I don't try I could be missing out.

I tried Tru Fit as well as they are a huge carpet place but again, plain burgundy or the loop pile. I know it sounds picky but the loop looks heaps different and would look funny on the Vertical surfaces like the doors and seats, sort of like putting carpet on your walls at home.

commwreck are good but HELL expensive. i paid 15 dollars for a U bolt for my diff :S

but yeah, any repo carpet will never be the same as stock cos' holden/ford/chev/hyundai all keep their fabrics a secret which sucks.

Thanks again but no luck, looks like the straight burgundy carpet it the only way to go so far.

Ok, the bad news is, its been NLA for a few years, thats all SL/E carpets, VB-VH. Only way to get any is look around at wreckers.

problem is with wreckers most leave the windows down and are full of water and other shit.
I had the same problem with my green sl/e but ended up just going with knox carpets type similar but yeah not the same.

I don't think you'll have much luck. I searched low and high for calais inter material (also available on Vr Caprices) but no-one had it. They had plenty of grey, but no tan.

I used knox and it fitted pretty good just the color was a touch off, but i guess that could of been my original carpet was old and faded. If you could get some original and maybe get it molded.

Thanks all for your suggestions, I think I will have to go for the burgundy in the super plush pile. If I go for the loop pile in the colour they all say is similar then it may clash with the existing carpet trims till they get done which like all car things are on the list with no deadline. I saw a few seconds floating around a couple of years ago, so another case of should have but didn't. If anyone does come accross any, it would be great if you could dig up the thread and let me know.
    Thanks.
