what are my booster options?

since no one answered my question on the other thread i thought id have to start a new one to get ppls attention as i need an answer asap.

so, my brake booster crapped-out yesterday, every time i put my foot on the pedal all i hear is my precious manifold vacuum escaping with a hisss.

i got a booking with ABS tomorrow to get it changed, but they are gonna charge me 300 bucks to remove, rebuild and fit. i know i can get one from a VK at the wrecker, but i am suss as to fitted a used 2nd hand 20-something year old booster that has been sitting around for god knows how long.

my question is; will a later model booster fit my current VK V8 brake pedal and master cylinder? if so which models.

i would much rather do all the work myself and save 200 odd dollars

VT booster will fit. but most hodens will have the boosters stripped from them at the wreckers.

your probly better off just paying the 300 and getting it done, at least you know its going to last.
