    Default autometer

    hey

hoe hard is it to get rid of the vacuum gauge cluster on my vk sl sedan and put in like a piece of MDF or something then throw in autometer gauges? im not sure what gauges i want yet.
also do you know if they make like a analogue gauge, speedo and rev, with a digital bit in it that shows exact speed and rev.

possibly cobalt digital if i cant get analogue and digital

    thanks

if you can find an autometer speedo that works with the speedo cable im all ears. the only ones i can find are digital pulse which means you have to install a sensor on the trans somewhere and seems like way too much work.

but the fuel guage is a regular volts resistance sender so easy to fit, battery, vacuum and tacho are all generic and easily replaced. its just the damn speedo. i would like to change my cluster too. VK is ugly as sin.

Couldn't ya get the gadget from a VK Calais, as that would need one to make it's digital dash work.

I may be wrong, but they use a cable from the gearbox up to the firewall where it has a little "doovylacky" that converts it to pulses, then runs to the dash.
