    Cool Immobiliser+Alarm

    Hello Guys,

Just got my hands on a tidy VK Wagon with only 72K' KM's (black 202) with a Trimatic Auto.

Just wanting to get peoples opinions on Alarms and Immobiliser's

    - Brands?
    - Pricing?
    - Recommended Stores?

Had a look at JB etc, but not sure if they would be ideal for a VK.

    Cheers,
    Dean

mongoose are badass. got a guy that does a full install, remote central locking, 7 imobilising points for around 600 bucks.

it may seem a bit steep until you try and put central locking on your car yourself.

7 imobilising points, wat are they? Didn't realise a car had so many. I guess there's fuel pump, starter signal, ignition....there isn't much else to use hey?

Jaycar had a kit available a while ago that let the crooks start the car and drive a short distance before the car would conk out. Couple that up with the one that fills the car with smoke and there should be laughs all round. The most effective system ive seen is a loaded shotgun strapped to the steering colomn pointing up at the drivers seat. There was a solinoid attached to the trigger which would fire if the engine started without the key. The bloke who had it was a crazy bastard. No one ever pinched his car though. I'm sure if someone did try Nd got nailed by the shotgun he would have rolled the body out of the car in the middle of a Westfieds carpark and just driven off.
