if there are no visable leaks then your engine is burning oil

if this is the case then it's time for a rebuild

if you can see oil leaking then replace the gasket it's leaking from

Make a visible inspection and see if there is anywhere noticable leaking oil. ie. Transmission/Sump etc.

If there is no visible leaks than like what dyno suggested it may be that the engine is burning oil, if thats the case I would take it to a mechanic before it does any excessive damage.

for those wondering, half a half a cm is usually known as a quarter of a cm or 25mm.

If it's burning a bit of oil it may need a slightly heavier grade of oil in it, try and find out what grade of oil is in it at the moment and maybe move up to the next weight.
The oil you are using may be too thin.

I'd say the OP accidentally wrote 'half a' twice by accident, geez give him a chance to stuff up as most people do sometime like calling a quarter of a cm 25mm.
Anyway, I'd say being a VH the rings would be worn after many years of use. Try Drewie's advice and go for GTX2 oil or similar which states that it is for older and worn engines being that it is a heavier (thicker) oil.
First off, I would jet wash the engine and look for any obvious leaks.
