hey guys just wondering whats the best way about doing this,
with the tail shaft can i just take the yolk out of the sails and stick it in the vl one also i will be using a 6cly as i have no cash at the moment,
also can i use the disc brake setup from my sails on the vl diff
also any infomation is welcome dont wanna mess it up as lost my job today
the brakes can be used the yolk you probly couldnt change yourself well i couldnt i tryed and didnt get far
Mate I have done this conversion. Use the rear half of a vl tailshaft and front half vh. The discs can be fitted from the vh to the vl but you have to change the axel seals. Apparently drum and disc seals are different? So have to change the bearings as well.
Sorry to hear you lost your job. What is it that you do?
Pete
if you want stuff from bursons, let me know cos' i have a trade account and get stuff at around 30% off, depending on what it is.
edit* anyway, the seals and bearings on the axles i got here are all good. dont worry bout' it.
yeah, the old drained out of the axles a couple of weeks ago, when one of my idiot collegues knocked it and the axle fell out. rather than pop the axle back in (no bolts) so it'd seal he walked off and let everything drain onto the floor.
also its missing a sump bolt. lol. sorry, my mate pinched it and never brought me back a replacement. yours will fit it just fine![]()
