I need to replace my door windows on the VH and wondering how hard/easy the procedure is.
They're power windows if that makes a difference.
Anyone have any info?
i have not done my windows yet, but it is a job on the cards.
usually the window and regulator comes off as one unit, but different cars vary. my impala needs to have the glass taken off first, then the regulator and runners in pieces.
i am guess the ol' commos would be a case of;
1.remove door trim
2. removed window seal felt (on outside)
3 there will be three to five bolts holding the regulator in place, usually two or three close together and one or two on further away. loosen them to make sure the regulator wobbles around.
4. wind the window all the way down
5. undo and remove the window stoppers from the door, then undo all the regulator bolts.
6. unplug electric motor
7. lift the window and regulator out as one unit.
but as i said i have not done a commo b4, that is the process for almost all japanese cars. hope that helps
please please please bear in mind that you will have to re-align the window stops when you put it back in, so try and mark the stops BEFORE you move them. they can be a royal pain in the arse to re-fit.
Thanks bud!
lol, you say thanks now, but wait till you have to line those stupid window stoppers up![]()
