NOS VK Calais Boot-Trim, Re-Fitment

I have tried asking this question in the your rides section of the forum where my VK Calais is posted (Retro Spec VK Calais) but have not recieved any decent answers so i thought i'd try here


Ok so iv bought a brand new (NOS) VK Calais Boot Trim looks great etc but its a prick to fit

Firstly the screws that came integrated into the boot mould were in completely different positions to my original item so i have drilled alternate holes to compensate for that

Secondly the screws that have been intergrated are plastic and only have half a thread on them! so a nut will only thread half way dwn the screw leaving the boot trim to flap and flop around

I have considered dismantling the trim and replacing those ridiculous excuses for screws wit better metal ones, but after paying close to 500 bucks for this trim i really dont want to break or damage it....

So my question is how have people fitted these NOS Calais Boot Trims to their VK/VL Calais??? (i have already purchased NOS Boot Trim Clips for the bottom of the trim)

sorry bro, i think your gonna have a tough time getting an answer from us, cos' we are a bit tight and i think i can speak for most people here when i say that 500 bucks is way too much for a boot trim.

although i can totally understand why you have, i just couldnt ever justify that much for my piece of crap.
