hey guys got a bit of a problem. I bought a kenwood cd player and it worked for 4 months and all a sudden its turning on and off while driving. So i took it back and they gave me a new 1 and that 1 is doing the same but its funny cause i could listen to it all day if i aint driving.. And when i am driving it will turn off but when i come to a stop it will come back on again then i put my foot down and its off again. can anyone help me out please...
Sounds to me like a loose or dicky earth wire
AH!!! i think i have the answer to this one... maybe.
mine was doing the exact same thing for a while, stupid car. every time i went to turn a corner the radio would cut out... took me ages to figure the little prick out. anyways, you got a volt guage in the car? check what voltage you are sitting on when the radio switches off.
it ended up being an alternator (which was new) not having enough amps to run my stereo/thermo fans/fuel pump/heater. the reason it switched off around corners was cos' i was indicating to go round the corner and those two lights were enough voltage drain to switch it off. lol.
also check you brake light globes, ditch the 31/5w's that came from factory, replace with 21/5w. pack the contacts with grease and drill a 1/8th hole in the bottom of your taillights on the outside to get any water out of them. cos' if there is fluid in them, the voltage gets killed every time you put your foot on the brake.
i hope that helps.
