    Default Newb needs VC help

Ohk well ive recently bought a VC vacationer for my first car.
It had one of those vinyl covers for the roof and i really hated it.. so i pulled it off.
Now im stuck with the problem of the glue it left behind

Is the glue similar to the stuff used to stick badges on the new commies? If it is you can just check the debadging thread (I can't be bothered right now...) and see how they did it. IIRC there was a few tips in there about how to get rid of the glue. Good Luck mate.

yep, heat gun is the way forward, and a hell of a lot of prepsol.

pls dont forget that the roof will need to be painted. i saw a civic cruising around yesterday with a bonnet that was in base coat. he obviously liked the black effect, any way the panel was just an equal sheet of rust.

even a spray can will do it in the meantime.

I used a 110mL bottle of Orange Power and paper towl, its a sticky spot & glue dissolver. Works great!

Took me around a hour or so of rubbing to get rid of all the glue.

This reply doesnt really sound like removing glue from a roof does it? :/
