hey
the rear of my carhas some panel damage. how would i fix it. i was thinking of Paintless dent puller but it would take a bit too long
heres some pic of the damage. should have more soon
thanks
lots and lots of bog lol
well that helps
thats fairly wrinkled mate, new quarter I reckon
thats what i was thinking but how would i do it. there is no join so wouldnt i have to change the other fender and roof??
oh there are joins there allright but you just can't see then under the bog. There'll be on where it meets the pillar etc.. look inside your boot at the panel and u'll see joins/seams everywhere.
I'm not a panel beater sorry so I can't say whats the best way to fix it.. someone will reply with some better advice hopefully.
ok. even my wrecker said there is no join.. well thats good then, ill wait for someone to advise
The rear 1/4 is noramaly joined up near the roof with spot welds but I think on a Commodore it will be lower down, it's a big job to replace one but it can be done
It costs nothing for a quote from a panel shop or a paintless dent removel place I got a quote on the mrs 121 roof that looked like a golf ball and they said they could what the call push to paint wich means they do the best they can wich is dam close to straight but with the depth of the dints it would crack the paint and me or a panel shop could smooth it with bog then paint it hope this helps
easer to find a new car body i reckon
Paintless dent wont get that out, the rear quarter can be repaced but is a bitch of a job due to the amont of unpicking of seams.
Rear pillar is braised onto the pillar, sport welded on the inside rear door, spot welded around the bottom of the boot floor where the spare wheel goes, underthe wheel arch, in the drip rail around the boot seal and fnally on the beaver panel
Get a panel beater to straighten it out, they wll use a machine like an easybeat which will spot weld a slide hammer to the car and pull the dent out. Bog over the smaller inperfections as a hammer &dolly cant get there and all fixed.
And to siddo007 you 1 post bone head, stick arround for a bit and do a bit of reading and you might figure out how much work it is to transfer mechaicals from one body shell to another. great first post cant wait to see your second

lol, that is some hefty damage. i know my beater wouldnt fix it, he'd tell me first to get a new car, then he'd source a new panel and make me unpick it.
its gotta be 3-4 hours of removal and a bit less for refit.
i would prolly go with the first comment "lots and lots of bog"
im going to either go for lots of bog (probably not) or panel beater. im going to be moving it back home soon so that will be close to a beater and ill get a quote. i dont care about paint as yet as im getting a new spray soon
thanks
