Today I was driving down the road at 50KM/H when The car just lost all power then cut out a few seconds later. Does anyone know what could have caused this? The cars a Carby black top. Any help would be great. Mike

It could be the case, was pretty low. But put some in before but still wouldn't start. It's turning over but wont start.

    Fuel pump or fuel filter.

possibly ran out of fuel and the carby bowl needs to fill up again before the car will start?

well, i think its agreed that its a fueling issue. you got one of those crappy fuel filters you can see through? can you see fuel in there? if you take off the air cleaner, stare down the venturie and pull the throttle does a stream of fuel come through.

    oh wait, is it carb'd?

    I guess it is.....

I reckon it is either a blocked filter or a pump issue.

Turns out it ran out of fuel. Im sure I put some petrol in last week! But even after I put petrol in the tank it still wouldn't start so I had to pour some petrol down the carb. I couldn't sleep last night i was so worried about it because I've sold it and the new owner was picking it up this weekend. But im not happy with myself for running it dry. Thanks for your help guys.
