good to see young blokes starting with Commodores rather than the usual imports!
mate I assume your budget is somewhat limited at the moment. Looks like the car has some good potential. The EFI 6 was a good engine, and had more punch than the 4.2L.

First thing I would do is start tidying it up. It makes a huge difference. There appears to be some damage to the front bumper. Try and find a nice straight bumper. Of course a set of alloy wheels always makes a huge difference, check out the second hand market - there's some real bargains out there. Just make sure whatever size you choose, it's a size that you can afford to buy tyres for. If you can't afford alloys, maybe try and find a set of silver 15 inch 'chaser' rims.

So yeah depends on your budget as to what you can do. But you don't necessarily have to spend a fortune to tidy up the car whilst you save up some $$ for some of the more expensive upgrades

yeah im getting a new front bumber and new rear trim, i dunno if u can see it in the photos but there is on rear trim on the right hand side.. i was going to go to pick a part to see if they had any.. i really dont know where to look though...
i think ill just leve it the color it is but touch up where the body work has been done.
and ill respray all the silver...things? lol and that grill thingo too.
so far im loving it, its real nice to drive and the interior is amazing, there is not one single tear on the whole interior..

I love how people change the exhaust on them to make the 3.2L's really rawr. Hope you have fun with it, and a great find.

k and n's are better not only cos they breathe better but because they are washable, hence saving you the dollars replacing them all the time.

mate, 10 points on your ride. it looks sweet, i must say im a bit jealous. please do me a favour tho, keep it as original as you can, nice clean cars like thisare getting harder and harder to find. as previously mentioned, clean the rough patches, spend a lot of bux on the suspension, bushes, brakes and tyres and itll be a nice ride for the next 20 years.

    good work

F***ing good buy for 600 bucks, and yeah man keep those skiddie stories to yourself, no one will applaude you for your efforts more then likely call you a complete wanker.
anywhoo mate nice clean car, personally i would firstly get a set of rims and work on the suspension and brakes, not a fan of old drumies haha
    Take it easy..

i must say you are one lucky bast***, i got mine for $700 with 316xxx on it and it was only carby, get some alloys, i got some 17's for 300$ (look on my ride in my sig).

then its just a matter of doing the od think, like now i have some big plans for it but im just going step by step, remounting battery in the boot, new seats, new carpet, shaved handles, killer stereo..

just do things bit by bit and don't skimp on the quality, trust me, if you have to spend an extra $200 or something it'll be worth it, its like tools, spend the extra and it'll last you a life time..

    good luck with it all

phew, some sense out of the boy yeah straight pipes on anything that has a standard cam will just sound horrible. they sound like a really loud lawn mower. if you want straight pipes then build a nice 350 chev and put a wild cam in it. THEN they sound cool.

    Wink what a bargin!!!

Excellent car dude, and what a price..i bought my VK Calais for $500.00 and its got rust and dents and auto stuffed, so you've done really well,

They are great cars, and easy to do mods on. once you look at wheels brakes and suspension, look at changing intake manifold and fit a 350 holley carb, much better power delivery!!!
