yeh nah im asking some ideas on what to do to the car etc...
and nah askd the guy i brought it off, came like that
ideas: Lower it, rims some vs senator ones would look mad on it, extractors, exhaust, air induction (boxed in pod filter or k&n panel
imo when doing mods to a car such as a vk u wanna be able to undo them as they're a classic and should be able to be left that way

if you're gonna do the exhaust, dont go any bigger than 2 1/4inch, 202s respond well to a 2inch or 2 1/4inch exhaust, the engine will already have extractors so half the work there is done.
there's loads of things you can do such as;
fit twin thermofans out of a ford mondeo inplace of the heavy clutch fan, you'll need a pair of relays, heavy wire, the correct temperature switch and some patience to rig it all up.
upgrade the front brakes to VL turbo rotors and VS finned calipers, its a straight up conversion which will give noticeable improvement to your braking. do this when your current rotors are up for replacement as VL turbo (290mm) rotors are the same price as the VK 270mm ones, cheap upgrade then.
upgrade the suspension to run nolathane bushes in everything except the diff bushes. Noltec adjustable strut tops, lowered struts and springs, but be sensible here.
fit a front swaybar out of a VL wagon (they're bigger diameter than whats on the sedans), you'll have to change the bushes obviously. that'll help with the handling and its a straight fit up.
polished VK calais 15" alloys will look good on it if you want that understated sleeper look as the rest of your car looks pretty unmolested and tidy.
just dont go putting wanky gauges all over it. or modifying it just for the sake of it.
lastly it looks in very good condition for $600 so good luck with it.
agreed totally with post abovegood work 'cane it'.
leave the power plant till you are off your p's.
it has extractors and a redback exhaust system on it already,
i might get a catback i dunno..
um yeah new rims and lowed, not to low but..lower
and im going to one of them pick a parts soon to see if there is any vk/vl parts
i can get cos i need.. rear and front bars and rear trim..
the car is getting sanded back and sprayed again but the same colour,
and last night i learnt not to clean the engine out with a hose or anything..
now it wont turn over, so all the water needs to evaporate it till i can start her up again
and i was thinking tinted windows too
and im getting one of the brock grille's
thanks for the adive
metho ges rid of water. just get a bottle and tip it over your electricals if you need a quick start.
be VERY careful with this, last thing you want is a fire.
the other thing, pick your tyres and wheels before you do any lowering. you should be able to get a set of VK calais alloys for around $100-$200 with tyres.
the letterbox grille can be sourced new and genuine HDT from rarespares, or HDT themselves in sydney. you'll also find a wealth of info on early commodores here... Home of the HDT introduce yourself there first before you post though, lot of very helpful older blokes on there who know their stuff.
