I have one in my vb trying to keep the 350 cool, it works ok but sitting in traffic for a while (20mins or more) it does/will overheat.

you will need much more coverage than that one fan. either two fans offset or a shroud that covers everything.

search around on here for the VT upgrade. my mate did it to his ute and he is happy with it, but it des drag a lot of amp's so you will need to upgrade your alternator regulator and pulley.

its 30mm wider but you could get it to fit if your creative. at 21.5" ( 546mm) wide x 17.5 (444.5mm) high the thing to watch out for is the position of the fans if its bigger than the core you need to have enough room on the cowl to cut clearance for the inlet/outlets.

But twins will be more efficient than a single.

personally i would get two 16's and offset them... but thats just me. if your fan shroud overhangs the radiator itll suck air from the direction of least resistance i.e. the gap, not the rad. so a bit of stickytape and some cardboard maybe

but there is no way near enough room to put two 16" fans that would require 32"s that i dont have but thanks for your oppinion bud

Use the ford el fans or mondeo fans.

    Also fit up a vn-vs v8 alternator.

A single 16 inch just wont work good enough when you're stuck in traffic.

What about one on the front, and one on the back on the opposite side to the one on the front.....that'll work. Obviously one will be pulling, and one will be pushing.

id like to know if that would actually do any better than a single cause as far as i can see it would still flow the same amount of air.

Yeah but the coverage on the radiator is better.....which is wat ya need. If ya have one fan in the middle with no shroud, it's only gonna pull air through that circle, so if idling, only cools a small amount of coolant in the radiator. More fan coverage on the radiator is the way to go....which is why a proper shroud makes a huge difference.

mine sits halfway between the blue bit and half on the gauge but thats not much help cause your gauge is different, i would get it overhauled if its getting on in age.

2 smaller fans should provide more coverage than a large single...natuarly all is dependant on cooling system condition etc... EngineTiming can have alot to do with operating temp.....(found out the hard way lol )
Floor it and swerve driving skool

yeh trans is out its now got a stalled converter to go back in, getting new clutches, a new band ,a softer spring of some sort will make it switch alot quicker , and a new ring its for the reverse gear the band runs on it and over the years its had some damage put on it so now all up $800 be done on tuesday then i will flush the cooling system and she'll pirr again now as for the fans i left the car running with the fans on for 5 mins and the guage didnt move so im guessing that there gonna cool it alright but im getting a thermo switch soon enough cant be ****ed remembering to turn them on
