    Default VK wagon project?

Well, I'm looking at building up a VK wagon project, Just buying a rolling shell and buying the motor and box, But have a few questions.
    1. Would an EFi 304 bolt straight in to the wagon or would I need to get new K frame and engine mounts etc. ?
    2. Could I bolt a T5 box straight in?
    3. What would I need to do for wiring?
And does anyone have any guides/manuals/information on the conversion? Would be much appreciated. Cheers

Search button is bloody terrible thing. I search for V8 conversion and it brings up about 75% of the threads, Thanks for your help though VKcommo. Danny8's car looks very similar to what I was hoping for.

If the car you buy was originally a V8, the k frame will be fine.

The T5 wont be a straight bolt in, you will need a custom cross member (theres a place that sells them)

So how much will the crossmember cost me? Also, If I bought a V6 and then got a right off VS 8 or similiar, Could I use the frame out of that?

I think it was about the $200 mark for one.
I had a mate make one up for me (was using a V6 and T5)

Don't understand what your saying about the V6 thing, if your meaning you want to use a V6 k frame with the V8, that wont happen, they are different (my VK was originally a V8, and the frame needed to be changed to a V6, if i pout another V8 in, it could have stayed)

I am saying if I buy a V6 wagon, Could I get a v8 Kframe out of a 5ltr wreck and use that in the VK?

They don't make V6 VKs. But yes, if you buy an inline 6 wagon, then get a k frame from a V8, it will work fine.

Ok, Sweet as. Once rego's payed Im gonna start looking for a VK shell. Would it be easier to put in a automatic box than a manual one?

Couldn't tell you. My eyes only look at manuals., so considering an auto was never an option.

Just another question, Will this be the same deal with a VB/C/H commodore? I love them all just not sure which one I like most.

All the Commodore's from VB to VK run only one K frame, the Aussie 6 and V8 both use the same K frame, so you wont need one. I posted a file somewhere on here last time someone asked this that detailed the complete conversion

So what your saying is it doesn't matter what K frame I use? If so that would be so much better.

Yeah I used my 6cyl crossmember for my 5.0L.....bolted straight up. Not sure bout the t5, but if ya use the t700 ya need to use power steering (unless ya start grinding away at the tranny case) and pacemaker have a set of extractors to suit vn style heads in vb-vk commodores. I was gonna use a t350 box so I could keep the manual steering, and the trimatic tailshaft and crossmember SHOULD fit with no drama's. I ended up going back to carby b4 I even finished the efi conversion tho....I'm glad I did!

But the 6 and 8 kframes are the same for the old girls as far as I'm aware. So wat v8 kframe is different to the normal 6/v8 kframe?
