Hey Guys
I have a VB SLE A fairly basic car with 253 and traumatic but I retrofitted a VK 308 and T350 Pretty easy fit except I cant get a damn speedo cable for it. I go to cov's/repco and they cant identify it from the numbers of course because I changed it. So where do I get a speedo cable for it. also I need to adjust the speedo to suit the change from 2.78 ratio diff to 3.08 but soon to be something else because I can do 150 in first with the 3.08 so I am guessing a 3.55 will be better but I would love the speedo to be reasonable accurate.
Has anyone else had to beef up a chassis on one for big horsepower?? I have nearly 500 but it twists like nothing else and snaps engine/gearbox mounts regulary. I was going to stiffen the chassis but I cant be the first person to pump 500 into one so what has everone else done??
Cheers Bevo
Any reasonable instrument repair guy can make you up a speedo cable, ring around. you may need to supply the ends for the gear box etc.
check my site for speedo gear charts, i also have a pretty good range of old speedo gears work out what you need and i will probably have one.
500hp pretty impressive, seam weld the body, plate suspesion arms, install a propper roll age, convert to a link rear end.
